Post subject: Lowered Seat and Extension Kit
PostPosted: Tue Oct 25, 2005 5:56 pm
Ok folks here are the pics from the lowered seat and extension kit installation.

The lowered seat and stock seat.

If you want to keep the stock helmet lock you'll need to chisel off the rivet that holds it onto the stock seat frame.

The kit includes a bolt that you can use to mount the helmet lock on the new frame. Use some locktite on there if you want to make it somewhat thief proof.

Here's the extension kit without the extended rear brake cable. I have lowered bars so I didn't need the longer cable.

The stock motor mount next to the extended motor mount.

You'll need to reroute lots of cables, so work them out in whatever fashion works best for you. It's best to use a metallic 50mm ammo box to hold the ruck frame and to use the kick stand to support the engine. You'll also need to move the shock back with the included shock mount extension. The kit also includes a new longer fuel line, so make sure you do this in a well ventilated location away from flames.

Picture to compare what it looks like stock and with the extension and lowered seat. :D

I love the lowered seat (mine will be ordered soon) and the jury is still out on the extension. How does it look it real life? Do you honestly find it's cooler?

Thx for the input Spoon. I'm leaning towards getting it when I order a crap load of stuff late November (get it all at once to save on shipping).

I wish we had more options for the front fender.

Yeah!, I talked to Abe about that and he seems to think that the one the TP folks are using are made for Monkeys?!

Hopefully he can find them

I think he can find them. Do you like the lower riding position Spoon? I think they look better lower, but are more comfortable in the stock position. I have other issues though. It's definitly a sporty piece, both the seat frame and the extended motor mount.
