my 06 honda zoomer has been getting slower and slower until two days ago when i went over to a friends.
when i got there my idle was very rough.
so we took out spark plug the end looked fine but the thread had oil on it dont know if this has anything to do with it.
we decided to try driving down the road about 5 mins later i ended up pushing i back.

if i leave the bike for an hour or more it will start fine but after 30 secs it starts to splutter and the only way too keep it going is to rev it but after about a min it gets rougher and rougher until it wont rev at all and it cuts out.

i have checked fuel pump coudnt see anything wrong with that.

i recently changed oil to top grade shell 10w 40 as advised.

i took the air filter off/it was fitted with a k&n look alike filter. when i had taken it off there was a fine dust in the air intake :?
and finally the rocker cover breather pipe has alot of air blowing out smelling of petrol
this is what it sounds like please watch to 6 minits

i no your going to lock this because you said not to make any more posts on same subject but this post is in write forum

Firstly Dude, there is no reason for anyone to lock this post lol...
This is how it works, ppl post a problem with thier scoots and everyone jumps in and we see if we can get you going again... simple :)

Firstly, does the little red light on your speedo flash?
If it does then count them, short flash = one and a long flash = 10. So add those up if there are any and post back.

What oil did you have in before?

Your airfilter? Was it oiled with airfilter oil? And if you say that there was fine dust in your intake and its K&N type, I assume that there this fine dust was in the throttle body, right?

In that case my first guess would be that youve got one seriously worn out piston and rings. But lets not assume the worst from the start.

yes the fine dust is in the throttle body and there is no flashing lights
i don,t no what oil was in it before all i no is that people recommend 10w 40 because its thicker at higher temperatures i think that makes it safer
the light only flashes wen the engine primes its self i dont mind if its piston and rings i just want to no wot exactly the problem is
can the piston rings and piston suddenly start deteriorating quickly anyway thank u for your post more are welcome
if you no were i can get instructions on how to replace piston and rings i will be very thankful :D
deteriotin

He's trying to get help from people on his side of the pond so I think this is acceptable.

Hey buddy, My first post....just picked up my Zoom last week.

Sad to hear yours is unwell....Definitely sounds like a problem with the rings...every time your fuel air mixture goes bang it is escaping down the sides if the piston and pressurising your crank case with exhaust that's why gasses are blowing out of the breather hose and smell of fuel, I would think that the reason the revs die over time is to do with the fuel injection system working overtime and overfueling to rectify the problems caused by the blowing rings.

As for a fix I would suggest getting your local scooter shop to take a look, unless of course it's something you've done before.

It might be that you have overfilled the oil when you did the change, that can potentially blow trhe rings.

Sorry I couldn't give you a fix....let us know how you get on bro.

Firstly, Jangobaldwin and CupidStunt

OK, this thread may become locked as it is in the wrong section, this is the local rides and meets section for Europe.

Head on over to http://www.totalzoomer.com which will redirect you o the UK Total Ruckus section and its where the UK (and sometimes European) guys and gals talk about issues and try and help each other out.

Most only check this section when there is planned meets on the go or nothing to do on a weekend so looking to see if anyone is riding.

:wanker:

OK.

Watched the complete vid.

You need to do an elimination process.

Take the polini cdi out 1st and rewire back to standard, because of the cheap arse italian wiring involved with the unit and the fact that they are not waterproof thy are prone to failure or the connection become corroded. Also Polini is notorius for causing bad ideling issues.

Then replace the plug (when the engine is started from fresh the Automatic choke comes into play so you are effectivley running an initial leaner mix which is more combustable so weak spark could be your issue.

If still the same at this point, and due to the fact that the breather is puffing out alot and with the smell of fuel in it i would suspect valve clearance or timing issues, just not firing correctly after the coke has stopped and the ECU has decided that the engine is at normal operating temperature, so for the one I'd get it into a local dealer for a check out.

After this, then you are looking at the rings, seals and gaskets.

Hope it helps and get yourself over to http://www.totalzoomer.com :wanker:
