really?! i have to have at least 7,500 miles on my ruckus to register in california ? i think i have 650miles.... if that... does an 08 ruckus have a 50 state emissions standard? does anyone know ?

I think i answered my own question. just in case anyone was wondering.

"...Does This Apply to Someone Moving to California?

If you are moving to California from another state, you may register a new federally certified vehicle in California if it was first registered by you in your home state, or for military personnel, in your last state of military service. When applying for vehicle registration in California, you must provide evidence of your vehicle's previous registration and that you were a resident of the other state when you acquired the vehicle...."

so it seem like im in the clear, because i didn't travel to another state to buy my ruckus, i bought it while i was a resident in nevada and im simply moving to california now, right ?

Newby here... Just got my Ruck yesterday. After riding mostly sport bikes my entire life, I sold my last one a year ago and the guy who bought it immediately killed himself on it.

So, today, I find myself commuting to work at a top speed of 40 and thinking to myself... Well, at least I'm safe.. haha

To register in California, there is a 49cc law. My dad just bought his Ruck last week from Reno and it is now registered in CA... Scooters are exempt. It doesn't matter if you have 1 mile on it, or a million. 49cc is the key. His has 420 miles on it and is registered now. Don't let California DMV feed you BS... they have a definite exempt rule.

Awesome forum.. I've been watching it for a while. If I can keep myself from grabbin the F#$in back brake to shift gears and throwing myself over the handle bars, it would be a friggin miracle.
