depending on the state all aftermarket exhausts can be illegal. the mothers of the nanny-state are looking out for all of us. i this causes you to lose sleep; change your meds.

Call your local police station and ask (I'm serious). Do you have some sort of "Motor Vehicle Act"? We have one that is available via online search.

If 83db is indeed disallowed, it sounds to me that you shouldn't take the risk. By the way, if this aftermarket exhaust is rated 83db at 4300 rpm, then what is it rated at 7,000 RPM?
