I reckon I could get up to 50mph. I cruise at 40-45mph, never done a flat out top speed run.

This is with that Kitaco ECU, 7.5g Dr Pulley sliders, Leo Vince pipe.

Yeah, I was kinda surprised myself. Speed was measured with a GPS speedo on my cellphone so it should be fairly accurate. I found some lighter rollers and replaced the supplied Malossi. They were considerably lighter so I could feel a gain in acceleration. But I have only reached rev limiter once. Maybe it is a good sign proving I am just below the limit?

Well that sounds impressive! The plug and play version seems to be a good alternative then.

Freddo- if you are hitting rev limiter on the flat then I think you are just on the limit.
Racingturtle- good to know there are some alternatives....the numbers you are stating are in par to the polini one....hopefully the kitaco one is not programmed in the same stupid way as the polini unit....How long do you run it? Any issues so far?

It is very expensive. I got it for £80 on ebay, so I was very lucky. The guys had no idea what it was, but luckily I had seen one online and jumped at the opportunity.
Been using it for about 4 months now, never had a cut out, never stalled. Not a single issue with it.

It was a light downhill. I am not able to reach rev limit on flat. When twisting the throttle to max on the stand, it revs up fine to around 8k rpm, and there it shows some hesitation for a second before it continues to rev limit. My guess is it has a power dip right there which makes it difficult to reach top speed when driving on flat. There are so many parameters to consider when tuning this bike. I actually feel that tuning a turbo charged car engine is easier. It shows a more consistent behaviour than the EFI-engine-transmission system of the Zoomer.

yup you are absolutely right...thats the variator issue mostly...you dont have firm transfer of the power to the wheel thats it.....

soooo need some troubleshooting here my friends. Installed the imap, programmed the 4 switch on the dyno, added the cygnus coil and final gear from the kitaco. Issue is that the bike is slow. on flats its about 65km/h, downhill its fast but the engine does not go over 8000rpm...there are 6g rollers in the variator according to the suggestions of the kitaco guys. Iam 180cm high and 90kg of weight....with polini the bike was topping at 75km/h on flats, with lighter rollers...so where the heck is the problem then? My mechs are telling me that the final gear is just too heavy for the tiny engine and that i should stay with the original....dunno....

Usually people stay away from those gears if they aren't big bored. If not try lowering the weights in your variator to like 5g.

I know I know, but I kitaco assured me that the final gear works well with the imap. Do you think that the lighter rollers will solve it?

Have you tried the third switch?(10k rpm limit)

Hard to say for me because you still use stock rear pulley/clutch.
I replaced it with zuma's since i was using polini cdi.
My stock was really bad.
But your stock clutch can did 75 kph at the past, i'm sure your stock is good.

Have you tried with lighter roller? 3-4gr ??
If it still doesnt working good, back to stock gear for a while, may be kitaco gears too heavy for yours.
Find the best tuning without kitaco gears first, and check the performance of imap.

I was hopeless too for the first time with kitaco gears.
After i understood about "ratio", i did it.
The ratio maker : variator, roller, belt, rear pulley, torque drive, torque spring, clutch spring, clutch, bell and final gears.
And i did all mods by my self in my garage

Just give more patience with this, and start with stock gear first with your last best setup.

Dera Coki, thank you so much for your support on this, I really appreciate your help. I still believe it could be due to heavy rollers-I will be more elaborating on this issue. The clutch is fine, but maybe the contrast spring will help. I tried the 4g pulleys I got from Opie but with these it just didnt worked at all same as with hard clutch springs. Problem is that there was too much items changed on the engine at once due to hard winter there was a lot of snow around so my mechanics were not able to try each of the mods separately. Coki just one personal question: whats your weight? Cannot this be also one of the factors? I am quite heavy (90kg) so maybe the engine just cannot overcome the critical limit of 8.000rpm. I also tried the 3rd switch but it was even worse- the engine was topping at 7.800 rpm. The new map I am using was created on the dyno by a guys who do this for a living so here I dont see the problem-its similar to the 3rd slot but its just "cleaner". So maybe its time to get back into the garage and work a little bit on the variator then...Ill keep you posted....and once again thank you for your support!

just use your stock torque spring and light roller, if still happen, back to stock exhaust.
i am affraid imap doesnt like polini exhaust, it happened to me.
