Somehow deleted my original thread here, so here's the short version.... 56k go back a cake.....

First got the bike


Then did a custom lowered seat, junked it and bought a REAL lowered seat, chopped the rear tail piece and added an R6


Speedo in the battery box and removed "stuff" I didn't need



Found an almost-free kind-of-running gy6 scooter, stripped down the Ruckus and starting painting!




New engine!!

A lot of people say you need a bigger flywheel when swapping to a 8 or 11 pole stator.
...I have the stock flywheel with an 11 pole stator

Are you sure the carb is back together right?
Stock gy6 carb?

Stock gy6 carb, 100% sure it's back together properly.

As for the flywheel, I bought a brand new one from SF with the tool, 8 pole, and rectifier, but still trying to get the stock flywheel off.

take some pics of what happened to ur flywheel, it will be easier if we have visuals.

for ur carb, hows ur vacum lines connected? does the hose coming from the top of ur fuel pump connected to the intake manifold?

Pics! Here is my flywheel, center nut removed.


Here is the flywheel puller tool. Put the larger piece in as far as I could, then tightened the center stud. The center stud pushes on the piece behind the flywheel, pushing the larger piece of the tool and flywheel off the backing. Like I said, I threaded it til it wouldn't go any farther (with tools, not hand) and when I tightened the stud, the whole piece ripped out damaging threads. Tried this a few times......



Here's my vacuum pump. Fuel in and out in the right places, vacuum in the middle is run to the intake manifold (also tried crankcase as one person suggested on another thread)


And here's the carb. Vacuum on the far left, and fuel going into the carb on the far right held on by the white ziptie.


Any help at all would be much appreciated. I just wanna ride again - don't even care if I have to pay someone a little to come fix for me.

That's weird how it stripped the flywheel puller tool if it was threaded that much already. You were doing it right but I don't know what stopping your flywheel to come off and stripping your flywheel tool. It should come off easily once you turn the inner stud of the tool. Maybe try to borrow another tool with new threads.

about your carb.. do u still have the fuel check valve on ur fuel line?

By chance is the motor from a Roketta? If so break out the torch and heat up the flywheel as best you can and pray it doesn't ruin the crank.

Yeah, it's a Roketa. I don't have a torch. Is that my only option for getting it off? I wailed on it for a few minutes with a mallet and not much happened.

Check valve? Nope, just hose running from the tank to the mikuni, and the mikuni to the carb. Haven't even installed a filter yet.

yeah u need to use the one attached to ur stock ruckus fuel line. if u threw it away already, just get a new one from the dealer, it shouldn't be expensive. put some $3 fuel filter too.

I dont know about the flywheel, but it sounds like to me your carb isnt getting enough fuel. One potential problem could be if the vacuum line may be too large. You want the smallest one you can cram on there. The other could be your float valve sticking. Try sucking on the vacuum line with the bowl removed and see if the float valve is allowing fuel to pass.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going back to school tomorrow (teacher) and don't know if I'll have time to mess with the Ruckus until next weekend. I will keep you all informed and thank you so much for the help!

FINALLY GOT AN UPDATE.... AND A GOOD ONE!!

I haven't gotten the flywheel off, but I did solve my fueling problem. On the top half of my gy6 carb there is a disc with a slot in it for a screwdriver. On the bottom half there's a nipple that was spitting fuel one the bike was running. I attached a line so I could see easier (may be folding over) and tightened that disc. Tah-dah, no more fuel. I figured it was like the disc to turn when draining the 50cc carb, but they were on different halves of the carb.....

So maybe it's the kink in the hose I attached, but no more fuel spurting out, and I took the bike haphazardly up and down my neighborhood street! Time to double check bolts, route wires and hoses, and reassemble! Not hard to get to the flywheel, so I can swap that when my buddy brings his torch.

So I got it running, put the seat on, and took it for a quick spin. After about 2 minutes it died (had been running and cranking it last night). Wouldn't start back up. Thinking it doesn't have the juice.

Will I be fine once I get the 8 pole stator in? Just waiting on my buddy with a torch......

Wasn't the stator or battery losing juice, I blew a fuse! Replaced and running.

I think my vacuum lines are too big. As soon as I let off the throttle it dies, but runs pretty well. Also, if I just try to crank it, it won't start. But as soon as I open the throttle the smallest bit, it starts and runs like it's its job!

Still have a friend coming Sunday with a torch to bust this flywheel off. Soon, all will be well........
