So my first ruck with gy6. This was bought like this, NOT built!

I sold it and now I have this...

Future plans:
D variator+clutch kit
Kitaco cdi
some lower handle bar
extension kit

btw) was there any downside to not running a air scoop and the cover? i see on your old gy6 that all that was removed like the drag bikes do. does it still work fine like this? i like the way it looks a lot!

Thanks guys, I miss my gy6 ruck that's why I bought another ruckus lol.

There wasn't really any downside of not having air scoop and the cover.
Didn't feel any different. Only thing I hated about my old ruck was the vibration! :pissed:

So I was installing dorby's variator+clutch kit last night.
couldn't get the belt on, so just used stock clutch with d variator.
Installed new battery+kitaco cdi. I was so exited right?
Took it out for a spin and bam!!!

variator nut came loose. BYE $85 variator! :meh:

parts I picked up from the neighborhood.... :headbashing:

ive taken mine off and on like 30 times. no problems you gotta make sure you get it good and tight. i tighten it all the way down with my hand then hit it twice with my electric impact. works like a charm every time.

hope you get it figured out. you couldnt find the variator anywhere? big piece.

I know right? big ass metal piece nowhere to be found. :dubious:

I hand tighten it pretty good. I guess I learned my lesson.

yea the right belt can mak a good difference! :banger:

but yea blows about your variator man happened to my freind to but he didnt tighten it all the way. he found all his shit tho and put it back togther right. so now you going to just start over again?

Yes, I'm starting over somewhat, some oem parts should get here soon.
I could not find all the parts. I don't know why but they're nowhere to be found.
And I ordered ncy variator this time.

I'll keep it updated.

Thanks man, looks like decent place too. I bought mine from dgy.com.
They had good price too, just takes time for them to ship it out though.
ncy variator on the way, probably by Thursday. :popcorn:
