Could use some help really bad here.

Desperately trying to get Rob back on the road!!

We swapped motors with a known good one. Stock exhaust and intake.

It idles great but bogs down and when given throttle, and really wants to go nowhere.

We totally cleaned the carb and jets, replaced both the intake hose and coupler. Spraying my brake clean shows we have no air leaks. Fuel is getting to carb, proven by releasing drain screw.

Help us out!!!! Please!!!!!

I've tried everything I know!

Let's get Rob back on the road and loving scooters again!

Going to try that.

First I'm going to have him try to swap out ECUs from his bikes.

This motor ran fine a while back. So it's carb, or ecu. :meh:

I forgot to look at what size jets he has in there while we had it apart, so I wanna get one together with stock jets. Anyone remember what those sizes are?

Stock. 35/78 on a Met.

If you need the stock jets I can send them tomorrow

I left the diaphragm spring out once during a rebuild of carb and it acted just like that..

Are the old met carbs the same as rucks?

I have a pristine stock met carb that I will tear apart and clean the fuck out of at lunch tomorrow if so.

It's really pissing me off. We even bypassed the posh cdi. Reset ECU. Everything I can think of.

And yeah- the carb went together correctly, attention to detail.

Here's another weird issue- it seems like there is a few spots during crank rotation where the electric start won't work. If I take the spark plug out and crank it over a few times, it will then easily start. But I don't see anything like vaporized fuel coming out of the spark plug hole.

Please help guys- Rob was devastated that we couldn't get it going, and I don't want him to hate scoots. Poor guy has been taking the bus to work because his BR has been fucking up too. Luckily he has a new voltage regulator coming in for that. It was charging at 19 something volts.

We need some chicken bone and goat blood voodoo shit to get these scoots back on the road!

I'm not sure.

Visually, the met carb I have looks identical to the ruck carb.

Sorry. I shouldn't ask one line questions. Early motor had heads with a vacuum port on the intake. If you swapped one of these ones, you'll need to cap the port.

I'm 99% sure there is no vacuum nipple on it, but will check with him.

No manifold nipple. I'm sure the brake clean spray would have picked that up anyway.

I super appreciate all the help guys!!! Really!!!!

On a second note...

I just walked outside to smoke, smells like I have a campfire going right next to the door.
There is a shitload of ash on my car and surrounding objects. Some wildfire that trapped about 150 campers this weekend is now about 10 miles away. It hurts my eyes to be outside, and even though i smoke cigs and weed, it hurts to breath out there.

Meanwhile in southern Oregon, my mom is getting ready to evacuate because of fires there.

We haven't seen rain in forever, but thankfully some is predicted for the end of the week.

Between this, the flooding in texas, the impending hurricane on the east coast, fractured ice shelfs, and the crazy threat of nuclear war with North Korea, is all kind of freaking me out.

Weather has been bizarre here, too. Repent, Sinners, the End Draweth Nigh!!!

Stock jets are 35/75 except the restricted Mets, which came with a 72. Just recently had a clogged slow jet on mine, must have got some debris in the bowl while changing jets.

Any chance the auto-choke (auto-bypass-enrichment-valve) isn't operating? Since it starts and idles but won't rev, that might be worth checking. :meh:

He tried a different ecu tonight but it wouldn't fire. (He's not as patient as me)

But that weird no start condition went away he says.

Hopefully I'll get over there after work this week with that met carb.

Mufucka needs to be riding a scoot not the bus!
