ok, here's the build thread....

i call her 'projekt go phast'.... lets hope she lives up to the name....

here's how she looked before

Image

i was pretty happy with her.. did a ton of the DIY mods (dr. EZP, you rock), then got hooked and played as money would allow.

lowered seat frame, my own bar-stem set-up, NCY disk front end, NCY extension, dio style rims with Pirelli SL26 rubber (which i cannot recommend enough.. those bitches sticky!!!), HIDs, polini variator and Dr. pulley sliders...

i was happy with the speed for a GET and I rode the shit out of it: racked up 13k in a year and a half. I even made it down to ride at SS in 2011. what a fucking blast that was!

Well....you know what they say about life getting in the way when you're trying to plan stuff.....

after 21 years of marriage, I found out my wife is a crazy whore, and slept around whenever she was out of town. So i divorced her!!! so now I'm broke living in a 1 bd apt.

come thanksgiving of 2012... i moved my scoot closer to my apt to put the trickle charger on it... wake up and the charger is gone... and so is my scoot. i was MAD bummed...

Long story short... I sold my EF civic to this guy.... a few weeks later he's having a beer after work with a co-worker.....he tells the guy where he bought the car from me.....the other guy say : "my little brother's friend stole a scooter out of there a while ago...."

well... I just got her back a couple weeks ago...ignition and gas lock punched out...wiring harness fucked up...rear tire flat...

but... stupid shits didnt know what they had....it was completely untouched except for those things....nothing was parted out...nada..

so.... i bring her home.... have my neighbor help me drag it upstairs.... and proceeded to tear it completely down. someone else had violated my scoot and I was't going to let it fly....So she gets a make over.....

package #1
Image

new GY6 from member evo ippo....

Image

packed like a pro.....everything needed....

6 spoke 12's I had forgotten I had..
Image

the initial set up...
Image

Next package-Michelin Pilot Sports tires 120/70/12 front 140/70/12 rear..they looks sweet! I love the look of Mobster's scoot, so I went with these..
I know the paint's messed up...the wheels are getting stripped and PC'd... if I can ever decide on my color choices...
Image

ordered on tuesday...GY6 27MM Keihin carb ,intake and filter from member jdmeg6r13s

ordered today.... 913.00 of goodness from Composimo... just got my taxes back! woot!
GY6 mount, Makoa harness, 11 pole stator, flywheel, and rectifier, throttle cable bracket and fuel pump/coil mount.

still need some other stuff... exhaust primarily..brake shoes, short axle, variator, clutch bell, cables, new front fender... and on and on....

BUT... thats where she sits now....and I at least have a build thread now so I can put my old gear up for sale...

I just love the UPS man.....got some great parts in the other day.....

Image

the carb sits at way too high of an angle.... so I added the angled clocking flange to my GIANT order from Composimo thats coming in.....

and I STILL cant get my color scheme figured out..... I saw a miata the other day that was a seriously dark shade of candied magenta.. pretty sweet....but that just made deciding worse....

on a side note....anyone have a stock headlight bracket for sale or trade? only the base bracket...no lights or light bracket needed. only the part that bolts to the battery box. breadbasket not needed if you've already shaved it off... lemme know!

Had a brilliant idea (well to me anyway..) for new pegs... I'll have to do a mock up this week....

But I used to have pegs with LED lights in them.... This will be better :banger:

My order from composimo came yesterday!

This mount is a thing of beauty! it looks like it came off a Boeing aircraft...

Image

Image

Image

pump and coil mount
Image

other bits.....
Image

and this for 1 of my 2 carb set ups...
Image

Also, not pictured is the Makoa harness, 11 pole stator, flywheel and rectifier that came with all the other goodies... quality all the way!

Now I need a paint color and i can move to next stage....im still stuck :meh:

and my "to GET" parts list still has big ticket items like shock and exhaust....

oh well...its still spring in the NW so no riding for at least another month. :snorkel:

Finally found some time to shave the rear frame, and strip the wheels....

I think I'm going to cut and weld in the seat frame, and add some body filler to smooth it all out.

While stripping the wheels... I realized they would look awesome polished, and go well with a lot of other polished aluminum goodies I have. So... I've got them down to a dull sheen and will pay someone else to make 'em real shiny!

Brought all my stuff I've been working on on my lunch hours lately and did a little mock up session...

Image

Image

The composimo mount is absolutely, and ridiculously strong. The rear frame or trans case will break WAY before anything on this mount gives way. The shock is for mock up only, and if ATR rear shocks ever show up again, I'll be grabbing one.

Image

Still playing with carb placement. May run it out on a longer tube with a velocity stack. Who knows... I have two diff carb options to play with...

My to GET list still includes exhaust (because I can't decide still), rear shock, rear brake shoes, short axle, front fender, new lever set up, smaller control switches, and a few other odds and ends.

I'm happy with the way she's sitting right now... I may cut down my NCY fronts to level it out if needed, plus I like the lower stance that peeps have been sporting

So I need to source a good painter and polisher next week.

Next weekend I get the 76 CB running, after installing all the parts that have been delivered lately...

It's looking like the CB will be out on the road first this year... But only cus I want to do the ruck up right, and I'll die if I don't get some summer riding in one way or the other..but I won't mind!

new mail delivery!

Image

ill be lugging the motor in to work tomorrow, where all my tools are! I have a good set of hand tools here, but no air tools at the moment...

upstairs 1 bedroom apt+ air compessor running+ air tools= pissed off neighbors.

but my lunch hour will consist of swapping the old stator for the 11 pole and flywheel, and swapping out to the short axle. should take all of 20 minutes with a handy Snap -On 3/8 impact!

Wow.. Changing axle and stator took all of 15 minutes, and only because I had to cut my own gasket, as there was no way that thing was coming off in one piece.
