I mainly lurk around in the bowels of TR.com utilizing the search function and don't typically post much.

After buying and ultimately passing on several used rucks in various stages of being built, I finally decided in May of 2015 to purchase a leftover 2014 from HK Powersports in Laconia, NH. Great crew over there and gave me a super deal to boot.

Since then, I have slowly been sourcing parts and have finally starting to put things together this season. Hoping to share my build and welcome any advice along the way.

Day 1 May 2015

Next to "Vad3r" (The first version anyway)

A little better... at least it's working now.

I forgot that dropbox appends a "dl=0" at the end of image links when you try to share an image. In order to embed you need to delete the "dl=0" and replace it with "raw=1" within the [img][\img] tags.

thanks for the heads up and my bad...

I managed to roll a whopping 300 miles in 2015... Ruck remained mostly stock minus a Polini and some weights that I grabbed on a ride I took to Nault's in Windham. Great crew and at the time they actually had quite a bit of Ruckus related items in stock!

Other projects ultimately occupied most of my spare time.

Towards the end of October 2015, I decided I was going to take things apart for a good cleaning. Don't mind my tiny 10x8 Shed... it's not the size that matters - it's how you use it!

This somehow quickly turned into a full blow tear down :ucrazy:

Then October was over:

Mid November 2015 -

Got the genius idea of trying to polish the frame. Way more work than I thought it would be. :canuck:

Rest of November and December were pretty much a crap shoot. Between work and renovating the house, poor Ruck didn't stand a chance.

2016 had to start somewhere -

Kore bars from Man in the box along with headset.

Image

Image

Some supermesh wheels from https://machinedmachines.com/

Too bad the front one was bent to shit. Didn't find out until much later when I went to mount them.

Image

Next came the snow cam battery box, played out as it may be, I still liked it.

Image

By this time March 2016 was rolling around and I made the mistake of popping into the Harley dealer.

Image

I kept plugging away little by little despite the distraction of a 700lb VTwin.

Image

Image

By the end of March I finally got around to getting the Naidun whitewalls mounted

May 2016

I finally made more progress on polishing but came to the reality that it was much much harder than when I've done rims in the past.

Got out to ride a bit on the RGS and as much as I liked it the thing was a pig.

Rest of 2016 turned out to be less than fruitful. I did manage to tear down my old shed and replace it with something a little better!

Ok DropBox says I got a little more done in 2016. Started to test fit things and realized my front rim was garbage.

Progress I suppose.

Megaphone exhaust from WeBike! Don't mind the look but the sound through the middle of the RPM range is horrible. At least it shipped quick and was well packed coming from overseas, I was impressed.

Recaro seat cover with snow cam trim to go with the battery box

Image

Still digging through the pile of photos so I can get current and start whining about my current roadblocks like how much this air ride kit sucks:

Image

Anyone else having issues with this kit leaking out air as fast as you pressurize it? From previous experience I've been able to air up and ride a bit. This bullshit is out of air before I turn off my street. I tried silicone spray on the lines, changing the routing, and all I can come up with is taking an air ride controller from another project to keep it inflated to a predetermined PSI.

This weekend's project is fabricating a bracket for this R1 fender I scored for $10

Image

Here's how the snow speeder looks right now. Getting there but far away from being finished.

Image

I'll try to figure out why some photos are showing 90 degrees off at some point - sorry about this.

Thanks for the support, guys!

Amazing how much longer things take than you plan. Yet I still decided to grab a 2003 Met I found on CL ($400 how could I say no?)

Image

WTF... Still can't figure out how to rotate these images properly.
