Here is a lil recap of my last 6 months.
-Started commuting with the Ruckus (30 miles to and from work).
-Got to 11,000 miles odo
-Changed my oil and couldn't figure out why so little came out but didn't care because she was running so deng fast.
-Bought a 2014 engine with 300mi on it from a friend in town.
-Clutch locked up on me (my own fault for not shaving off the hook)
-Took the fresh clutch out of the CVT that came with the 2014 engine. Installed.
-Noticed a knocking sound and noticed the gear box shaft (the one the clutch rides on) had some play.
-Switched out the CVT to the 2014 one.
-Still I heard the knock.
-Changed the oil because it was time and I started to think something was fishy.
-One morning during my commute a truck in front of me was making a bunch of noise. Turns out it was me.
lol. Engine crank bearings broke and flooded my cvt with motor oil. Surprisingly my engine ran and the only reason why I couldn't go past 30 mph was because the belt kept slipping from the motor oil.
-Installed 2014 engine at 11,555 miles odo.
-My baby is rolling strong as fuck!
-Take away lesson: Don't underestimate the value of frequent oil changes.
