Ive been a lurker for a while now, finally got around to buying a metro.

it has 5800 miles, and a cracked side panel but soon it will be pretty fun to scoot around on. mainly i figured it would be nice to have it to putz to work on instead of driving my car. my car is good on gas (a 2014 lancer) but i figured since i dont really need a lot of tools and the tools i do need i can put in my backpack i could save some money on gas. plus i like them.

im planning on lowering and stretching it, led tail light, ruckus CVT arm, and painting all the orange plastics matte black.

so progress happened pretty fast and i didnt bother to take any pictures because most of you know what happens when you try to stretch a metro.

This is me, below. yes my hair is silly. thats what happens when i ride the scooter around without a helmet (i wasnt on any main roads, i always use one when on main roads.)

Image

this is my friend, who lets me store the scooter in his garage in exhange for free rides, and lots of homo jokes. this is actually a video, click on the link below to view.

the hardtail i bought from the rad factory. he is a super cool dude, and really nice products for a cheap price.

Image

still need to install an LED flasher, but thats small potatoes.

Image

after painting all the plastics blaaaaaaaaaack. (mightycarmods reference)

Image

currently i only have the left hand bar end mirror on, i usually do a full head turn before merging anyways.

Image

before paint, and after the ruckus swingarm install.

Image

another picture. with my lancer in the background. lol.

Current Mods:

Briggs and Stratton Exhaust (welded on stock exhaust pipe)
Ruckus CVT Arm (with Ruckus gears currently. I am lazy.)
Polini Variator with 5.6 gram weights
Ruckhouse Intake Kit
#82 Main Jet
eBay Special Rear LED Taillight/Turn Signal Combo
O'Reilly Octagon LED Turn Signals (installed in front fender/fairing)
NCY Stretch Kit (with steel engine strap to raise it, still working on tweaking it.)
Rad Factory Met Hardtail (used the Texas style shock mount extension.)
eBay Special Bar End Mirrors

Future Plans:

Tune the Carb -> Install Met Gears -> Tune Variator (right now it really has a hard time getting off the line, i think it needs a new slow jet, and a shimmed needle? <- apparently thats something you do? i need to do more searching on that subject.)

New right rear fender (PO cracked it really bad)
New Cream colored Speedo surround panel (PO cracked this pretty bad too.)

Install the other front fender turn signal, wire it all up and put an LED flasher in.

Find a way to mount the Otterbox Belt Holster thing (for my phone in an Otterbox case, i think it would have the best retention so my phone doesnt fly off mid ride) on to my handlebars

DIY CVT Cover out of some spare 1/8" 5051 aluminum a friend has laying around. (its a scooter, and im cheap. plus DIY is more fun.)

120/70/10 (size to be determined on whether i can get the engine raised.) Whitewall on the rear wheel.

Paint the insides of all previously orange plastics black, and wrap all the currently spray painted black plastics in chocolate brown

long story short i am lazy, and things have happened. by the way, my friends house where we do all the work to our cars is nicknamed Sketchy Garage. so if anything seems sketchy, you now know why.

i got my fuck it sticker for the fucked up fender i have.

Image

stretched, and hardtail installed

got one mildly non shitty picture of me on it. i apologize for the fluffy-ness of my hair, it happens when i ride without a brain bucket. (only when not on a main road)

video of the brake light in action

Image

put 4g and 6g roller weights in the variator. they work 10x better.

So i finally made it to the 50/50 club!

Image

confirmed via my phone GPS and a friend of mine driving in his car behind me the other night. not sure what i should do to squeeze a few more MPH out of it t get to 55 before putting in the Metro gears.

(Yes i have read the Get Faster 101 thread, and just about everything is more or less on point. I think it may just be the Polini Variator or something else im not sure.)

Im thinking about making my intake a little shorter and messing with my AF Mix again, im running 38/82 right now, but my spark plug looks fine, so i dont really see why changing down a jet or two would make more power or a better top speed.

i havent done much other than tune so everything exterior wise still more or less looks the same. still debating on what exhaust to get, i really like the Steady Garage GP exhaust. its not too expensive and hopefully isnt insanely loud.

started painting my new theme on the scooter. its just spray paint. i kinda like the old school army theme. i painted over the star on the fender because having 2 didnt really fit.

Image

Image

Image

i also picked up a #80 main jet to replace the #82 so hopefully the scooter will be a little happier with that. nothing else that exciting really. ive been working on the car, and got a tattoo, and some unexpected expenses happened so progress on all things extracurricular have slowed to a crawl.

it would be cool, but i dont ever want to be in an accident and have my face destroyed.

Image
