Image

Dan Max harness

They are called "Emgo mini turn signals". I just got them from a local motorcycle shop, but you can find them online too.

Cleaned up the controls with some metal polish
Image

I designed some rear set peg mounts that set the rear pegs slightly down and further back than the rear frame holes. I also had some of my old BMX pegs in the basement, made a now defunct company called Basic Bikes, and they were called "Silencers". Thought they might look cool on the Ruck!
Image

My friend Adam fabricated these for me.
Image

Painted the rear sets with Por15 and mounted them in between the front and rear frame. Rock solid
Image

This was a slightly older photo, but I got my GY6 and Adam also did a custom exhaust for my Yoshimura TRC exhaust. I have changed the mount since, but this gives a good idea of where it would go.

Installed the stock headlights. Using Composimo headlight lowering brackets. Bulbs were changed for aftermarket super white H4 bulbs.
Image

Mocked up levers
Image

Mocked up front end
Image

Just before the swap, seat and seat frame installed, bars bolted on using a Password JDM stem. And a strange car in the background. :)
Image

Aftermarket ATR rear shock mocked up on the old GET motor
Image

A custom rear right side swing arm was fabricated for the GY6 swap with a bearing mount, and swingarm mounts to the motor. The wheel is held on with a hub centric spacer over the long axle, and bolts directly to the ATR hub. Rock solid!
Image

Baller time GY6 with swingarm, custom hub and Yosh carbon TRC. Yes, it does sound awesome. :)
Image

Next set of progress pics: swap completed and wired up!

I have a baby due any day, so my friend Adam did the rest of the swap for me so I can ride it after baby arrives.

Motor swapped, harness installed.
Image

Front end / controls, small Ballistic battery
Image

Ordered a kickstand and a filter for the GY6. Starts and runs fine, serious growl to it with the exhaust. Just needs a filter (obviously my GET filter doesn't fit)
Image

Gas tank painted, MET fuel sender installed (was going to get an Acewell gauge, but every time I want to order one from Standard Functions they are always sold out!). A local member had a Vapor gauge so I bought that instead.
Image

Rear end with Kenda 329 tires Kenda K329 tire rear 140/90/10 slightly stretched, front is 120/90/10.
The rear brake light is the stock one mounted for now, until I find a lower profile LED one I like.

*Note on the Composimo GY6 mount. I thought it would fit in the stock location with the mini fatty, but it is offset. If I used a stock GY6 rear wheel it would be OK, but the mini fatty was off by an inch or so, so the mount was modified and moved to the left of the frame to center up the rear wheel. Just a note to those trying to run a 3+2 mini fatty with an ATR hub on GY6.
Image

Ruck in current state. Only a few things left before it's street ready!

"Full armed and operational..." :)

Swap completed, runs awesome! Some pics as she stands right now. Some fixes and mods to come:

- adjust suspension, might stretch it slightly with Composimo medium link
- lower the front fender (or swap it)
- install PasswordJDM drag brace
- adjust stock tail light for now (new tail light ordered)
- install Dingleberry plate mount
- G2 billet throttle
- find a rear fender that fits
- new kick starter on the way
- new plug and coil / oil change

yo, T . if you decide to stretch it more you will need to get the longer throttle and brake cables. also as a side note i had a customers ruck come back as it decided not to fire the spark plug anymore and it was a faulty cdi unit , the same one you are running so just a heads up that your cdi may or may not crap out.
