***THIS WILL BE A PICTURE HEAVY THREAD***

As of August 10th, 2016 I bought my first Ruckus. Actually I bought two Rucks. One for myself and one for my Wife! Both are 2015 models and being our first scooter purchase I am very happy. They were our wedding gifts to ourselves. Pretty justifiable in my mind. Rode off the lot, never having rode a bike or anything close in my life before, with .7 miles. :)

I am from Lodi, Ohio.
IF YOU EVER WANT TO RIDE LET ME KNOW! Hard to find people when you are surrounded by only fields and Amish.

MOD LIST: (With Dates)
(9/16) NCY Lowered Seat Bracket
(9/16) Plum Crazy Purple and Gloss Black Paint
(9/16) DROW R6 Sequential Tail Light
(9/16) TRS Forward Footrests

How we bought them off of the showroom. Only 2 in stock and got a bundle deal with the price!

Image
Put 50 miles on it and already started tearing into it. Did our first oil changes. Learned how it generally just tore down and changed/ removed some things. I like to tinker... Removed the floorboard, rear fender, and few other little things.

Hit 300 miles and decided paint needs done. Tired of black. So last week the tear down ensued and parts got sent out!

Here's some paint progress. I went with the Mopar Plum Crazy Purple and Gloss Black. The wife opted for her special mix of teal and hot pink, which is still getting completed.

the purple is gorgeous. Great wedding present!!! Ride together and ride often, its hard to mess up on a Ruckus. Looking forward to seeing what you two do.

Hey thanks! I was very skeptical on purple because I worried about it not being dark enough to be more masculine, but plum crazy keeps it very dark until the sun hits it and then it shines like it is the sun itself. I love it!

We're actually thinking on taking them to wherever we decide to do our honeymoon so that'll be a good time for sure. I am glad that this community seems very easy to get along with too. Lots of good people I've met so far and it hasn't been long.

It's great the two of you not only ride together, but wrench together too.

Can't wait to see them put back together.

Looking forward to the progress. Great paint. That's a TON of space you have to work with there. I'd fill that with a fleet of scoots :)

Just got them back today. Dear God it's so nice as far as the combo goes. Much better than I hado anticipated. I thought since it's such a bright combo that it would clash. Nope! I'll post pics once it's all together.

I agree. I am a mechanic by trade and although I would like for her to learn cars, it is just simply too complex for her and can be overwhelming. The rucks were a perfect bonding point as well as just all around fun. Never realized they were so cheap. I would've bought them years ago had I known.

I'll definately post some pictures!

Thanks. Yea, it's definately a nice space. Last owner put his machine shop in there. Sneaky too, because it is just a barn that was converted from stables so from the outside it's like,... "meh." Don't have to worry so much about theives. Plus in the country that kinda stuff is scarce since everyone is armed. Lol

The pink. This was before the final coats.

Also had a few minutes at work today and constructed a rear license plate bracket. I was pretty proud of my welding since I generally suck at it.

So all the parts were picked up from my painter today and I must say I was pretty impressed. Everything turned out pretty good. Especially comparing things to my painting abilities. Lol. Anyways, I attempted to assemble both of the scooters but ended up only having enough time to finish my wifes. It looks killer. Her choice of colors, OP as F*ck.

I wanted to tonight, but crappy Ohio brings rain. Gotta get 200-300 miles on them in the next couple weeks before we put them away. I must say, last night the brief ride we took was amazing though. Definately feel like fall riding with a hoodie on is much better than Summer imo.
