Well here goes!
1986 Spree with blown motor
$50 on Craigslist delivered right to my garage
All plastics and bolts there but not shown

Image

Have a gy50 longcase engine sitting in the garage waiting for the swap, looking at 80cc kit
Will be on 12" with disc brake up front
Any tips, thoughts, encouragement welcomed

Garage got a makeover, now insulated for winter wrenching

I had one with a 72cc Dio motor. It would do wheelies. The brakes were a joke. Parts are cheap. Go for it!

Not much going on here, starting to take the Spree apart
I forgot how much I hate dealing with plastics...
Got the triple tree ready to swap in this weekend so I'll have a better idea of stance (moar low)
Welding of engine mount and shock plate to follow

I guess this is slight progress-
Knocked out the tree stems.
Need to clean it up and swap over to have bolt on China made disk brakes

Triple tree and rear shock mount welded up
Front forks need to be lowered a bit
Then onto the engine mount

Some progress, slow going here with work and family
Engine mount chopped up, needs some finishing welds
Front lowered about 3"
Thinking I'll order a second SSS shock tab and run dual shocks
Will order the 80cc and big carb in a week
