This is my first build thread. Not first build. Well first full build. I Have a 2012 Ruck that i bought with stretch, drag bars, and lowered seat frame. Since then i added some things.

But back to the Met Build. I scored a killer deal on it. Its a 2007 Metropolitan. This is going to be a slow build so be patient. Its not going to be a Gold medal winner. Basic idea is GET it running, ruckus swingarm/cvt w/wheel, stretch kit, lower it a tad, variator tunning, intake/exhaust, paint and powder coating. That's the main basics besides lil things here and there.

Alright picked it up Saturday May 23rd. 10hr round trip. Thanks to my friend Lee for tagging along.

Got it home and started tearing in to it to see what a barn find Met is like.......... And WOW!!!

After pulling the rusted to crap tank i found animal droppings and all sorts of bugs. So she got a bath!!!
Image

I noticed when rolling it in the garage the levers had no tension and well they are rusted and broke. So figured better finish pulling plastic since its all getting painted anyways. And look what i found......
Image

And Mickey mouse decided to try and hot wire it I guess.....
Image

I tried to see if the motor would turn with the kick start lever. Well my 185lbs didnt budge the damn thing. Opened it up and look at that performance clutch

Well update, I'm going to be getting alot of new to me used parts for the build. Already have a gas tank and front harness ready to install. Due to mouse and rust. Most of the worn/damaged parts are rust. The owner used it as an island cruiser so it has alot of rust. Thankfully the frame is aluminum! And the plastics are in good shape.

So far ZACH hasn't had an issue with his hardtail. And this is the same.

is yours the same wall thickness as his
the material I can get here locally they have 3 types, outside stays the same dimension
hopefully you used the thickest square tubing

Image

this looks to be stronger
at least if there is any extra stress its put right into the swingarm

notice how yours floats above, and the tab to the shock mount is much longer too on yours

also I didnt see any side straps on your stretch
you want those too
and best if you do one on each side, to prevent wheel lean

That's the first one I built, but it wasn't long enough. The next ones I built fit just like his(they don't rest on the swing arm). The only way there will be a problem is if welds were to break, but they're plenty strong.
His is the 3rd I've made and no problems with the others. My daughter riders hers every single day. My wife and I have also rode 2up on it more than once. Im 185lbs, she's 100lbs. They're sturdy.

Also, he has vertical straps. They're just not on in that pic.

Yes I have straps. I was mocking it up to drill the holes for the straps.
