Really good write up!!

What the hell. I painted my gas tank.


After work I'm headed out to pick up some more parts and order my brake lines; last night I was able to sort out the lengths. I'll also pick up some speed bleeders and look into some different pressure switches. Might as well go all out.

Obsessed is far more accurate than I'm willing to admit, but in truth your probably right. It feels like my summer has been consumed by this project and it sorta sucks. I love building it, but summer for me is not about this. To say the least I've sort of, maybe, temporarily, lost motivation to finish it this summer. It's practically fall.


That said I've done nothing to it for the past 5 days and don't plan to until some form of gumption returns. I've got a few essentials on the way so maybe when that stuff shows up I'll do a bit more. In the mean time fall is my favorite season so I'm going to spend some time checking out the country side and otherwise chill in my hammock.


I've also got some new pics, but a part of them are at a friends house, so I'll have to get those before I post up anymore to keep the story line in order.

Yeah it was pretty close to mud; bad photo. It's actually a black wrinkle wrap paint and that's a fresh spray. Nothing too fancy, this will all be hidden and the coat is just to protect the metal. Then again I was also bored and the task didn't seem too involved.

Thanks Dan, glad you like it. I'll get up those pics of the rear caliper mount soon. I've been a little side tracked with a few other things at the moment.

Oh and huge thanks for all the hard work and rough tides you've gone through to supply me with the good stuff. I can't imagine the headaches you've had to deal with, but I really appreciate the kind gesture of transforming my RRGS hiccup into this beautiful part; I can't wait to get it in the mail and put it on. Thank you for snapping the pics, it looks amazingly good and the all black is spot on, thank you sir. Now if I can just get some black forks with dual caliper mounts.

With such an outstanding example of workmanship i think its deserving of a more special shock

You are the first and so far only guy in the world to have this shock, its 100% custom made.
The design comes from my samurai 'X' shocks for the Z-125, uses the same internals and materials for construction.
But the bottle is smaller and gives it a more consistant look to go with its shorter size....... problem is my decals (i made 500 of them) dont fit, so they will be plain until i come up with a new laser logo

The pleasure is mine, I'm sure. It does feel extra special knowing I've got something made just for me.

Here we go... I managed to get the pictures from my friends camera to illustrate the construction of the rear brake caliper mount. In this case I didn't make a template to go from, we just took measurements as we went along and made it from the leftover piece of material from the engine mount.






I used this black and decker hand drill to make these holes and as you can see I was a bit off from center on a couple of them. It was a bit tricky with the clunky tool, but because these were the pilot holes I was able to work it out in the end.
