whew...biggest take-away: For a first-timer, you'll spend much more money, time, and frustration than just buying a $300 part....and it will look shitty.

:hihi:

That $350 fairing is starting to look more promising, lol.

Thanks for the read, P :highfive: That was VERY informative

yeah.... I know...!
I liked the comment along the lines of... "If I pay myself $50/hr, will I be able to accomplish this in 6 hrs or less?"

(doesn't V.2 do a lot of fiberglas/kevlar/carbon work? Could he help out with the learning curve??)

He's learning, as well. But, yes. He's offered to help out. There's another guy in town, Chopt, who also does CF/glass work & said he'd help. But, having no where to work on it would be a huge issue. I'll just have to tackle it when a lot more constraints are addressed. In the meantime, I'd really like some wind & rain protection. Maybe plexi or similar from TAP would be my best bet. Might just gear up the ruck for the shit weather, though. It's easier to handle in the worst weather.

I'd be happy to help with fiberglass or CF pieces. I could help you make some very unique shapes. :pimp :choppin:

I suppose it's time I post here so I can keep up I've been catching it on the new post page but I want it on my posts. I think big rucks are awesome. Great buy on this one blood. I hope I can convince my wife to let me get another scoot looking at either a reflex or a helix

Hell yeah, thanks! I'm hoping to get your help with the swap more than anything. Once that's done, I would be stoked to get your help on learning CF/glass. :banana

Thanks for the sub :highfive:

I feel lucky to have gotten it at this price. I've got to get the ruck built so I can focus on this one :wasted:

Added a trickle charger connector. Boy, was that a PITA. The seat s seized, so I used some WD40 and a mallet to work it loose.

What a mess

I need to start sharking some BR threads

Bought some maintenance parts that I read were needed when pulling the muffler or rear wheel.

Had a good garage day at Version's today. Installed the Bitubo

Image

The exhaust is pretty ratty, i was hesitant to mess with it

Image

Adjusted the rear brake so it's not squishy anymore.
My lights went out OTW over, so he hooked me up with some bulbs until i can get replacements. So awesome he had them lying around.

I also started hearing a very high pitched whine a few days ago after riding. It persists even after the ignition is off.

edit: It didn't do that today :meh: I love intermittent issues! :wasted:

Flat yesterday due to nail in tire :/

Ordered the [urlhttp://www.amazon.com/Michelin-Power-Pure-Tire-Construction/dp/B0068CAERI?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00]Power Pure[/url] for replacement. Hoping the patch lasts til the end of the month, lol

Fought like hell yesterday and couldn't break the bead on this tire :headbashing:

Fortunately, Version 2 came through in my hour of need.

What i bought:

:meh: at least it's something, lol. I still have the silver bullet gasket and associated hardware that usually breaks removing it all.

I was a little scared when the machine wouldn't pop the bead, but then I remembered how I did mine. A piece of 4x4 between the wheel and machine gives the arm more throw. Boom.

And it's awesome to have access to a cheetah. Beads are a non issue when you have one of those.

Glad I could help out! Although it's hardly summer riding season right now. WTF? :wasted:

Bring that thing over! I cleaned up my garage, so lots of room to move around now.

Plus, I have air tools! :D
