Hey everybody, new here and thought I'd make a build thread since it seems like you need one in your sig.
Just picked up a 2009 ruckus for $250 not running. Threw it in the back of my car and got it home and started tinkering. Got it running but had a horrible noise that sounded like it was a bad crank bearing.
Picked up a used motor from the classifieds. Haven't put it in yet because I've been busy painting and other little things. Should be putting it back together soon.

How she looked when I got her

If you put an r before the img tag ( so the tag says rImg instead of just img ) it should resize them.

You have to adjust the end tag as well.

There I resized them. :highfive: I'm on a phone so not sure how they really look though.

Looking good! Like the white color. Can't wait to see it all put together. $250 for a busted bike is a pretty sweet deal. Just paid $300 for a front frame.

Thanks. Almost done painting then I can put it back together with the new bars, r6 tail light, flush mount blinkers and mojo stretch. Still looking for a rear wheel and tire.

R6 tail mounted. Noticed I can still see gouges in the rear frame bar from removing tail light bracket
Image

10" mojo stretch installed but not bolted on all the way. Was waiting to put my 12x8 on to tighten the bolts up
Image

Gsxr exhaust, what do you think? Lol, little too big. Was actually thinking of cutting it down to about a 9" and using it. Not totally decided yet. Have an R1 muffler sitting around also.
Image

Holy crap that's gonna be a big stretch!!
Image

But after some running around I found someone who got it done

Michelin power pure sc 140/70-12 on a 12x8 Douglas red label.

And I fucked up when ordering my new shock on eBay. Accidentally ordered a shock with eyelets on both ends, FML.
so I gotta grab a shock now.

Think all I'm waiting on is my kymco hub, paint the battery box whatever color I decide, and moving the ecu out since I put speedo in the BB also. On vacation this week so it should be ready to roll as soon as the hub gets here.
Oh yeah and exhaust lol

Nice work and great deal on a used ruck.

on that exhaust, what would be your plan for the header?
The pipe is way too big for the GET.

Thanks.

I was just thinking having an exhaust shop in town fab up a 3/4"-1" pipe from the flange and around to a 1" to 2" reducer to connect to the exhaust. The r1 looks easier to cut down since it has an end cap so will problem do that one. If it ends up sounding like shit I'll put something else on it. At first it was just a joke but then I kinda figured what the hell, what's the worst that can happen lol
