I figured it's about time I posted a ride thread on the ruck I've got. It all started last fall when I bought my '07 Ruckus from a guy up in Madison for $1,100. Seeing as how it only had 4,9XX miles on it I figured it was a pretty good deal. Right now it's pretty much all stock except for the lowered seat frame, teal plastidip (which is beginning to peal in a couple places) and the removal of all the plastics. As soon as it hit 5,000 miles I replaced the oil, spark plug, and air filter since that's what the guy at my local motorcycle shop said to do :meh:

Just this past weekend I was riding down the road and the muffler somehow broke off the header. I've been looking to replace it with a Briggs muffler sometime soon. Will keep this updated the more I do

Just started to peel the plasti dip off the rear frame and seat, got about halfway done with that. Sending my Briggs muffler and original header in to be welded at a shop, hopefully it gets done quick

Got the newly welded Briggs exhaust back and let me say it looks badass! Turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

Supposed to have thunderstorms all weekend and throughout next week so not sure when I'll be able to test it out...

Been a while since I last posted on here but the briggs muffler is holding up really well! After installing I instantly felt a performance increase while accelerating and while wide open. In fact, I'm actually hitting the rev limiter now so I'll have to look into tuning the variator since its stock right now (at least I think it is). Top speed at the moment is 38 mph roughly, but not too sure how the stock speedo is :meh: As for the Briggs, it's significantly louder than the stock muffler, which I expected that, but it's not loud to the point where I feel like I'm a nuisance to the neighborhood. While decelerating you even see a nice little flame shoot out of the pipe occasionally.

I saw online a picture of a white lamborghini and ducati that had been sharpied on and I thought it looked pretty nice. Thought about making the battery box white or buying a new one and giving it a shot since I haven't seen anyone who sharpied their bike on here. If that doesn't work then maybe I'll sticker bomb it cuz I haven't seen that either. Just tryin to be unique! :banger:

Thanks for the comment man, I'm hoping it turns out well down the road. Currently in the process of trading my battery box for a new white one so I can hopefully GET this sharpie look going!! Also just bought some new Pirelli SL-26 tires for the front and back that should arrive in about 5 days :highfive:

Ahhh I'm slacking with updating this thread...got a little done with my Ruck in the passed...month. First thing was that my Pirelli's came in and i got them all mounted up. Needless to say these outperform the original stock Kenda's by miles! Loads of grip coming from these, although I haven't been able to test them out in rain, not because it hasn't rained, but because I'm too much of a fair-weather-fan to ride in the rain :snorkel:

Next i went riding around with a buddy of mine who just got a Ruck too (I may have persuaded him to get one  ) and took some pictures for RuckHunt.

Next up on the list of things to do with the Ruck is to buy a variator and belt, I'm thinking of the Polini variator since I've seen a bunch of good reviews on the Polini variator and belt combo but I'm open to suggestions on better combinations (as long as they're not extremely expensive!) Also I'm still looking to sell / trade my battery box for a white one since I don't want to paint over this camo. Who knows, maybe next paycheck will be towards a new battery box as the first one is going towards the variator

I've been told that it could be worth some money :meh: I don't know, the clip on the bottom is broken so I figured I'd get rid of it and buy a new white box from partzilla or something

So far just the variator, tach and belt, next will probably be a set of weights for tuning and some jets so i can do the airbox delete mod. Who knows, my mind changes everyday on what i want :wasted:
