So the new pipe is taking forever to ship. :headbashing:

i have to admit there has been great communication on the order from the vendor. Every time I message scootertunning about the order I get a response within hours.
Too bad the fabricator they are using to get the head pipe to fit an 8" wide wheel is taking their sweet time. :pissed:

Oh well.
We've had 50cm+ of snow here in the last 2 days and we're sitting at -28*C with the wind chill today. Wont be riding or wrenching for a bit still.

Thanks man.
Glad you got something out of it. I like keeping everything here. Helps me keep things straight when I'm tuning.

Excited to get out riding again...

Small update – Finally :banger:
So after almost 3 months the pipe I kind of ordered shipped.
Purchased a GET fatty Two Brothers 10” System from www.scootertuning.ca back on Boxing Day. After a shit ton of emails with the vendor, turns out the 2 companies they get to modify these pipes has completely shit the bed. Unfortunately after all this time Scooter Tuning is unable to supply me with a system that fits the 8” wheel.

I should mention the customer service from Scooter Tuning has been exceptional!! I got 2 emails a week from these guys with consistent updates. In the end the guys at Scooter Tuning gave me a deal on a standard Two Brothers system for all the hassle and I’m now left to modify the head pipe and potentially the bracket to make it fit. I’ve already reached out to my buddy that did my one piece seat frame and this seems like an easy job for him. Once I get all the parts I’ll drop the bike and pipe off for him to work on.

I’m pretty excited to finally get the exhaust system. With any luck I’ll have it on in a month or so.

Question for some of the guys following this that may know about custom headers. I posted this on Facebook last night and didn’t get any responses. Really hoping TR can help me out

Any tips on fabing up a head pipe for these bikes? I’ve done some reading on this topic but haven’t been able to find anything concrete. Curious if it’s a good idea to fab a head pipe that is 1” all the way through or just extend the existing pipe?

If anyone is running a 2Bros or Yosh exhaust systems on a fatty build what size of pipe did you use for the header?

Andy, don't know if this will help any or not, but it's some info to consider. The exhaust on the left, with the short, large diameter header pipe, is a Wirus Win. I tried every combo of jets and never could get it to run it's best. Switched back to the Polini (the longer, smaller header on the right) and immediately got better performance. Just my opinion, others will disagree, but I think you need a certain amount of back-pressure to get the best performance. :meh:

I agree w/ OF and had similar results. The yoshi header ran much better than the "fatty" header which was a larger diameter. From my build thread....

Late edit 01/14/17. Yoshi header 16.5 mm ID

Fantastic!!
Forgot all about your guys posts. Really appreciate the help.

I totally agree about needing some amount of back pressure. At least this is what I've been told over the years when doing exhaust on my truck and other bikes.
Based on your experiences it sounds like I'm better off sicking with a head pipe as close to the size of the original 2Bros one. Was thinking about this more last night and knowing Two Brothers designed the head pipe and silencer a certain way to get the performance they claim out of the GET motor it would be best to stay as close to that size and length as possible.

I am really hoping we can make the pipe fit a bit closer to the motor so I can gain some ground clearance. I doubt it will make much of a difference but my old pipe hung so low I had to pick up the bike and walk it over curbs and speed bumps. No a big deal really. :meh:

x3 on OE header size being better.
on my fifth exhaust and the Yoshi & MNNTHBX with smaller headers worked best.

GL with the fab!

Good to know.
Once the pipe gets here all have to measure it up and see.
Very good chance I won't stray to far from what 2bros has for a pipe size.

Package should be here Tuesday.

Nothing really going on around here. Dropped the bike off at my buddies place last weekend. He's confident that he'll be able to GET everything done the way I want.

Mine and his schedule are crazy these next few weeks. I likely won't get the bike back till the end of April. Anything earlier would be awesome.
