:wasted: Fought the Monday morning hangover and went to go buy this gem in Orlando. Guy couldn't GET it to stay running and said he "messed up the diaphragm" so I kind of used that as my haggling tool to beat him up on the price.

Well, here she is! THE RARE KRITI BLUE!
1987 With 3K on the Odometer (Exempt on the Title so don't know for sure)
Complete with ALMOST all the acorn nuts :banger:
Good compression. I really never researched these and didn't even know they were 2 strokes!
Carb is fine, not sure he knew what he was talking about, but no fuel flow from the petcock (or is it a mechanical pump? maybe the diaphragm is bad in that? No on/off valve on it like my trike so i figure its like that Mikuni that was on my Vento, only smaller?). I'll make sure the fuel system is all in check hopefully by this weekend.
Blasting this baby down with the pressure washer and coating the frame. I like this color so might stick with it, not sure...
Good tires, battery is on the tickler so will see if it takes charge.
Thing is a breeze to take apart...

We went back n forth so much on the price he even said "this is my final price and ill even buy the beer" haha! So, he went in for the title and keys and came out with SOME BEER! :banger:

1 hour into it...

All the plastics are there, MAYBE one broken tab and a little surface rust. The rear tail light plastics were cracked but he had some backing plate on there with some rivets...

I had one of those with a punched out 72cc Dio engine. I was frightening to ride. It did wheelies and if you weren't paying attention blasting of the line you were in trouble fast. At least no one could see what happened through all the two stroke smoke. Hahaha...

Braking was ridiculous, in a non-sarcastic 'I'm going to die today' kind of way. 3" drums front and rear failed to slow even my paltry 155lb ass reliably.

Named her 'Killing Spree', but sold her after a bit when I started getting too many bikes.

Have fun with that thing, but be careful!

I was thinking about sanding and filling any imperfections and just clearing it after to keep that wore out look. Kind of wanted to just take em in and get painted to match OEM but will see.

Yea I want to keep it 2 stroke for now to see how it compares (never rode one, and probably wont until I fix this one). Ill GET to wrenching on it more tonight and start with the frame and go from there.

If running properly I should be able to wheelie this thing easily stock right?

i mean if you pull up really hard it might? doubtful though. the stock spree motors are little turds, people that take the time to build them are wasting their time, its non variated so its gutless

swap in a honda af05, af16-18, yamaha mina vert or yamaha mina horiz

It's pretty good stuff, could well remove the sun faded layer along with some micro scratches, revealing the fresh minty plastic beneath. Elbow grease or electric buffer required.

I spelled it wrong. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Meguiar-s-Pl ... h/16550253

LOL I actually found a bottle of that stuff on my shelf. Bought for my wife's headlights awhile back, sure its still good.

FRAME HEADED TO BLAST & POWDER! :banger: Will have this done at work since we have a paint division but I will have to wait since actual projects takes precedence over personal. Any ideas on how to preserve the frame sticker with vin? Heat gun and remove or can I temporary mask it for blasting and just have them be careful around it. Or just screw it and blast that sucker off!

Trying to figure out what color to paint the wheels... PURPLE? WHITE? PINK? BLACK? Been messing with some color touch app trying to get an idea. Notice how I colored the signal housings to black too  You can also tell I touched up the front fender with the app but it actually looks like that now after I pressure washed it.

Right now in conversation with SSS for a DIO swap. Seems to be my best swap option without dumping a brazillian dollars in this for a full custom, too many toys and actually going to look at another scoot for barter later this afternoon :kamiscoot

SSS is a good dude, all of my builds are funded through him. af16 dio is easiest and best bet. you dont need to dump a ton of money into building it either. start stock and work up. you can very easily spend thousands building up a 2t motor. the brakes on the spree are a pile of garbage, youll be dragging your feet to stop. FOR SURE look into a triple tree swap, SSS has the parts. I just finished mine on my drag spree. i went with an oversized front drum this time around. i dont mean to clutter up your build with my pictures. but just to help ya out :highfive:
Image
only issue is you have to either chop down the stem on the triple tree or chop the handlebars, otherwise your left with this nice gap

Old build with 12" wheels and disk brake. both are yamaha zuma 50 swaps

Naw dude thanks a bunch!!! :highfive: LOAD UP THE PICS!

I went through a bunch of Spree build threads and LOVE THAT RED ONE! I actually have a spare front wheel/fork assembly for a Ruck. Came with the spare GET I have. All I need is the triple, clamp, bars, and that SSS adapter? I have to research the rest of what I need. I guess the stock front fender if out of the question if I swap forks, but what about the cluster plastics? Do I still use the stock bar set up?

When I took the front fork assembly off, BALLS EVERYWHERE :wc_dribble: Damn bearings were dropping like flies, didn't know they were loose like that haha, There was some grease that held a few in, but I think I managed to gather them all up.
