Post subject: All in the details... 66.6cc
PostPosted: Fri Sep 02, 2016 7:43 am
Sorry if that title was miss leading but I'm trying to find out more details on the yimmy 66.6cc motor. I have searched google and here on TR but i'm really only coming up with build threads and "reviews" of the engine. Not too many specifics about the engine itself... what I'm really looking for is:

Other then what steady states about the engine
"Chimera Piston and Rings
Chimera Cylinder Sleeve
Yimmy! Cylinder Machine Work
Ported & Polish head, valve work, and combustion chamber work
Chimera Headgasket"

What internals have been changed modified... Is the engine using the OEM cam or is it replaced with a different one with different lobes?
Are they OEM Valves and Lifters or have they been replaced with HD springs, lighter lifters....
What is the compression of the motor?

If anyone has more details about this engine I would love to hear!! I've also PM'd a few that have this engine but I can't seem to get a response.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks

After seeing you ask if it has lighter lifters I can't help but wonder if you truly understand engine modifications and what we have. As said consulting the people that build it will get you the most accurate answers. I do believe their site states they sell a base engine with the 66.6 and you can add the mods you can afford. Seems like a speced out version was closer to $3000 or more.

Thanks for the concern? haha I believe I stumbled upon a website that had a few performance/HD valve internals including lighter lifters, titanium springs, polished lightened valves (could be wrong on this one). I'll search through my plethora of ruckus bookmarks and try to find it.

As for talking to Steady, just got an email back the other night...

Quote:
Hi Daniel,

1) Piston, Rings, Sleeve, Valve, valve seals, and headgasket are all new. The head is OEM refurbished, which is ported and polished. Everything else is core OEM that has been inspected.
2) Assuming that the inlet and outlet you're referring to is the head ports. They are ported to max diameter that is allowed and safe to run. It's roughly 2mm larger than stock at the end, flow bench tested to increase air volume by 15%. The head ports are ported and polished all the way through, these are the only heads that we know has this, it's not something that everyone could do to these heads.
3) Compression is 12.3:1, some engine will vary slightly due to head surface milling which may be +/- 0.2:1 CPR. You must run 91 octane.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
-Steady Garage

Now that I have my answers, Has anyone put a JC cam in the 66.6cc? I'm trying to stay away from the GY6 because I've read to many "problem" posts, and the fact that the two GET motors I have have been nothing but reliable. Not looking to go 70+mph but somewhere in the range of mid to high 50's cruising and somewhere in the low to mid 60's max. Those numbers maybe unrealistic to some but at the moment I'm hitting around the average of 49-52mph on my GET.

There are no lifters in a GET. And I'd love to see one they ported and polished. That intake port was a straight up bitch.
