I finally started wiring my hunk of junk this afternoon
I also got some LED head lights I am going to custom fab on, so as much as I said I would never get rid of the front basket/lights, I think I am after all (I just love the classic Ruckus look)... undecided just yet.

If my parts get in this week and it all goes together well (fingers cross) I should be out riding this weekend

I'm in no rush to get one, I cleaned mine up but it could get better. Thinking your SOS pad is a good idea, or maybe I'll just paint it black, it will almost look the same as if a cover was on there!

APearson: Just emailed you back...if you still want the other extension. if not no worries. BTW, you could use truck bed liner or "Plasti-Dip" spray (avail. @ Home Hardware) to black-out that tank and/or frame.

plasti-dip bothers me... I hate the feeling of it when it's dry

I'm just going to paint it black, I have some that will work just fine! Tried to get my back wheel off but she's on there to tight so I need to borrow a couple tools. Gotta get it off before paint!.

Well, last evening after work found me on the first real ride of the season!

I cruised down 76 ave to 99 st then up and down whyte a few times, using whyte(82 ave) all the way back home. I was averaging around 55-60k which is pretty much what it would do before i messed with it but the variator isn't even broken in yet plus i still need to check the valve clearance.

70k on flats is what i want!

I love cruising down whyte! I'm down there a lot because I have friends on that side of town. I'm also only able to get 55-60 max on flats as well. But I guess the cold air has a little to do with that. We'll see when it warms up I guess! Ripped apart the bike today go get at the frame, the first layer of paint is drying so I should have everything installed by this time tomorrow. Not looking forward to putting all the tubes and wires back though!

You should try swooping in behind cars. I can get up to 70 when I do that. What I usually do is wait till one passes me and right away I go right behind the car.

I live just off whyte so I loser-cruise it a lot in the summers - usually down to Hawrlak park (one time Mr Lahey in the Parks van started chasing me through the park with his little flashing light and when he caught up to be started yelling that I was TOO FAST and kicked me out bwhahaha - yes my little GET was juuuuusttt flying through there at astronomical speeds)
