Hi All. Gobert23 just posted an idea I've been thinking about for a while. It seems most of us are buying part willy nilly from the states and asia for out scoots, and sometimes getting stung for packaging. I wanted to get a Rad Cover from Password, but the shipping was as much as the cover What are peoples thoughts on a group purchase of stuff, Bowls, Password, etc. or anyone want anything in the coming weeks, that we can get as a collective?

i imagine it should go something like this:
1: work out where you want to buy your stuff from (nb: the gokobuto fatty kit from bowls comes with a pre fabbed engine hanger/extension)
2: let everyone know that you are ordering a bunch of stuff from across the pond if anyone else wants in.
3: place order.
then if lots of people jump on your order you can either:
A: get the order shipped to you, pay the import tax, divvy the payment up between however many people were in on the order, post everyones stuff out.
B: same as above, but if the order is sent to my work, i will send it out to everyone gratis and you can all save a few quid on postage. obviously i'll get stung with paying the import tax but i'll divvy it up evenly and whoever was in on the order can paypal me back.
yeah, it probly does sound a bit dodgy, as (jokingly i hope) pointed out by wyatt, but i'm a good guy and have only offered to do this to help you lot out. it's up to you i guess. tbh i couldn't care if you do it or not. i'm not doing it for money and i can afford to sort out my own shit, but if i can help save a few quid for others then i will.
a good way round import tax is to have the store you buy from label the package as a 'gift' with a value under 20 pounds (i think... you'll have to chekt on the uk customs site the actual amount) and you MIGHT get round the import tax, which can get pretty silly on big orders. HOWEVER in doing this, the package won't be worth it's actual worth, if you see what i mean, so if shit does get lost, then you'll be fucked.
however, in years of buying expensive shit from overseas i've never had one item go missing in transit.
