So I had a blast meeting everyone in Portland! Thanks again for coming out! Got home to a MAJOR bummer. I was in the shop this morning and thought I'd put a fresh plug in the 206 since I had one laying right there... Well I went to pull the old one out and it got tighter as it unthreaded. SHIT! I'd somehow crossthreaded it when I put it in way back when. I remember feeling like it was an odd angle when I had installed it but had thought it was just the plastics blocking a clear view. So I got it out but now have no idea what to do short of pulling the head and maybe trying to thread it from the inside out to recut the threads. Might have just destroyed a $500 head. And with no head, not sure how I can ride Super Sunday. Just FUCKED my budget! Might just buy a Taida head I guess. FUCKING STUPID AMATEUR MISTAKE!

I guess this explains my low top speeds and fucked up temp readings. Live and learn I guess.

BTW- Seth I had looked everywhere for those mirror mounts to drop em off yesterday but found out I'd left em at home. Shoot me your address and I'll send em to you...

If you can remove the plug, and with the head off, you can re-tap for a heli-coil. Best option you can do. Ive been in that situation before except I stripped out the plug hole on a $5,000 dollar cylinder head. Heli-coil saved the day!

I had an isuzu rodeo and one time I wanted to be a man and change my own oil. I got all the shit, yada yada yada. So I go under the truck, find the drain plug and go to town. The fluid comes out RED. Dude I shit my pants. I don't know what fluid in the vehicle was red but it sure as shit isn't oil. Well I quickly replug it but the damage is done. I go inside, do a little digging on the net and it's transmission fluid. And of course cause it's a fucking Jap truck, the only way to fill it back up is a dealership only tool. Something like a reverse vacume pump. So the truck is undrivable. I have to pay for a tow, new fluids from a dealer, and them the wife made me take the damn thing to jiffy lube to get the oil changed. Seansean, everyone makes a bonehead mistake from time to time.

Yeah I've only ever made a couple and luckily I realized it was a mistake as soon as I woke up next to her in the morning...

Alright, I'll fess up. I was jacking up a 37 Ford four door slant back, almost completed mind you. I was supposed to have a rubber jack pad for traction but I forgot to use it. Needles to say, with the car up in the air, the jack slid away from the crossmember and the car dropped onto the jack. I saw it happening and couldnt lower the jack fast enough. It fucked up the radiator and messed up the alignment on the hood body panels (3 piece hood), along with the grilled being a bit tweeked.

I'm back and will be open to the public in the next month or so...
