Too bad brother. Get your loose ends tied up and give it another go, we'll show you a good time in Seattle any time.

the issue is really that you choose the interstate for the 250....even that is not enough to be comfortable on the interstate. Backroads my friend, even a 50 can handle that.

But I'm glad that you decide to expand your horizon by opening your mind up a little and experiencing something new...

It was Vintage......a 22 year old Honda Elite 250.....I think Bin is right...... Interstate 5 killed my scoot.
I don't think keeping a 250cc WOT for 10+ hrs a day is a good thing for an old motor/scoot.

funny thing is that the met/ruck 50cc can do WOT all day long without a hiccup...

How many miles on the 250 again? I'm thinkin age but also fluids as well. Correct TYPE of coolant every two years and oil every ~1k miles or 6 months (which ever comes first) should mostly keep things good.

Longballer & I were discussing the same thing......about the Ruck/Met WOT Superiority!

My Elite 250 has 16k

The problems were.....
• Mysterious over flow
• WOT for 8-10 hrs
• Swing arm/muffler bolts Fell off.
• Swing arm Bearing Jacked
• Transmission mystery grind.
• & some hammering internal noises.

I put the bike on my rack & haven't touched it.
Working/riding my Vintage Bikes lately.

damn that is a lot of issues...time to hang up that bike and get another one

So yeah most bikes can't do WOT all day long, especially when it is hot out.

the z125 is not new technology only it's FI...thing is still air cooled. I'll bet if taken care of equally the old elite150/125 will out last the z125. Besides the z125 rides pretty rough, but that's to be expected from an air cool bike. The new elite on the other hand is REAL new technology. But anyways stick the newer motor in and clean up every thing really well including flushing the cooling system and oil (w/using diesel motor oil).
