We were lucky enough to take off Friday morning and have two great days of weather, though the forecast would have suggested otherwise. Eight of us left Knoxville around 8am. Our route was Dandridge, Newport, Hot Springs, and Ashville, where we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway. While the GET doesn't make the best mountain climber, it's a small price to pay for long downhill bomb runs through amazing scenery. I'd love to know what kind of power the Ruck makes @ 6000'.....
About 75 miles up the Parkway, we dove off into Maggie Valley for the night. The next morning took us to Cherokee for breakfast, then more mountain climbing to Newfound Gap (think 16mph...), it was bomb time into Gatlinburg, through Pigeon Forge, and on to the house. The nastiest storm of the year arrived ten minutes after we hit my driveway.
nice video.. one question.. how was the ride up the hill coming out of Hot Springs on hwy 70? thats the way i go when i goto pigeon forge/townsend.. the tunnels coming from asheville south on the parkway are some of the darkest on the parkway especially the ones with curves in them.. looks like you guys had fun.. you guys need to checkout the carolinacon 2012 thread.. we are voting for it to be in asheville next year.. would be great to get everyone together and show them how many small rucks we can get.. you guys alone add a bunch to the mix lol.. by any chance you guys gonna ride with us when we goto townsend in july?
