Post subject: Can you swap a zuma front end on a met?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:36 pm
My wife said that I could build her a met so I'm going to start looking for one around $200-400 bucks. And do a GY6 fatty hardtail. So I was wondering if I could swap the triple tree and front end of a zuma 50cc and still fit the front fender? Cheap disk break solution and I could run a 130/90 tire on it.

No offense, but why would you do that to your wife? You want her to enjoy the ride, right?

I'm interested in seeing responses to the Zuma fork tree...

I had a R6 shock on my ruckus and it was as if I had a hard tail and it rode really nice. We live in the city so the roads are really nice so it will be fine. This is what I want it to look like, maybe only a 4" stretch instead of a 6" stretch.

I think we can do that and still retain some suspension. Hard tails can be pretty brutal. Set it up with a short travel shock.

That one looks SWEET though. Fatty Met would just be sick.

If that is the route we go then you can have dibs on the triple tree.

Pretty sure the stock MET front fender won't fit on the zuma front end..... too wide!!! There's another thread on here with someone wanting a zuma front fender cuz the ruckus fender wouldn't fit. :)

The front disc setup on my Met was from a TGB Key West which is very similar to a Zuma.

I kept the stock tree and just used shims to make the fork tubes from the donor fit. I had to cut the wheel spacers down to get everything to fit up front.
