Has Anyone used or known of anyone to use these?
Are they actually better than the round weights, or are they just trying to reinvent the wheel?

Search man search! There's plenty of info on here about them already. I've got a set of the 6g's myself. I'm going to wait and install them in June just before I leave out for CarolinaCon09

Oh no you didn't!!

Also moving to the help section. The sliders are good, not sure if they are better or worse though.

I use the 6.5g sliders in my ruck and they work great.
Truly, I haven't noticed any ups or downs in performance, BUT... they last much longer than round weights.
I've read that on Big Rucks they give better acceleration, better mid range power, but a little less top speed...

I recommend. 8)

**Yeah, I searched for the slider weight threads that were on here last year and they be gone.**

haha No worries dude.
I'm a ruckus rider - not some stupid ass girl. haha

I did search and found nothing -- same as the both of you.

good to know, i'll look into what weights are available - I was told that 5.5g would be best for me.

I weigh in at a hefty 275 and I run a big bore with 5.5 Dr. P sliders. I tried 5.0, but I didn't notice any improvement in acceleration. I tach 8800-9300, but I'm told I need to drop slightly because I am not hitting the sweet spot on RPM for this engine. I'm very happy at 5.5 but I'm going to get a set of 4.5 to try. Oh, be sure to install correctly! There are two flats, one against the center post and one against the slide plate.

I only weight 125lbs -- What do you think is better? ... to have smaller gram weights like 4g or larger as in 8g? I'm not ripping around on a big Bore - as much as I would love to say I was.

I'd probably get 6 or 6.5 gram weights if I were you Nikki. 5-5.5 worked well for me because I am 215, but you don't need the extra acceleration as much as us heavy folks do.

I use 6.5 g's for the better top speed and I weigh 165.
Definitely go with the 6.5's or even 7's.

Not as high as 8 though. 7 tops.

Dr. Pulley slides are my personal favorite. Much better performance and out lasts ANY roller weights IMHO.

5.5 grams are a good all around weight on any setup. Powerband is even and consistent throughout. It's a good starting point. If you feel you need more low-end go to 5.0 or more top-end go to 6.0

At your weight 5.5 will give you good low-end and will not deminish your top speed.

I just installed a KN variator with 6.0 Dr.P weights, kevlar belt and blue clutch springs. Immediately noticed the difference. Prolly cause all my crap was already wore though. In any case I'm happy with them.
