Post subject: clanking sound at max speed HELP
PostPosted: Wed Mar 22, 2017 8:25 pm
im hitting 45 mph and hearing a clanking sound and wont pass the speed. on a downhill I can pass the 45 mph and the sound stops but always comes back at 45. I think the sound might be coming from valves area but had the shims replaced by a mec last week.

It's hard to figure out where in the engine the noise is coming from when you are going 45 mph. The sound is deceiving and could be coming from anywhere. You'll have to figure out where it's coming from. Also, 45 could just be your top speed in your config... 50mph is really, really good. 45 is respectable.

Sounds Similar To A problem I had But my Sound I could Hear It From My Exhaust, What Are You Revving At When It makes That Sounds Could Be Your Revving to high floating valves. My Noise Came On Around 10,500rpm and disappeared when brought back to below 10k
