If you've done all those steps, then it sounds like a carb problem....
next round of questions!
1) does it have a new clean (not oily) air filter?
No. This will be ordered as soon as I reply to this.
2) are there any modifications on the air box (is the snorkel flap is still covering half the opening?)
I have made no mods at all.
3) has the pilot screw or idle screw been adjusted recently?
Yes the past 4 times I cleaned the carb.
4) was it set without using a tachometer?
No. By ear only.
5) have you done a plug check yet
Yes. I changed it when I first got it back.
if not, pull the old one to see what's happening and put in a brand new freshly gapped plug
make sure the plugboot is tight...shove it on the plug with a twisting motion, then twist it again when it seats
(the plugboot can bunch up and then push itself off the tip of the plug and cause random engine failure)

is the end of the old plug beige, grey or black?
If I Remember it seemed okay. Fairly clean. Let me pull it and see now.
a new plug is the cheapest diagnostic tool available!

it's too early to say, but so far base d on your description, it sounds like a fuel issue....
best case scenario.....you have trash in the carb and it just needs cleaning
I agree but like I said I have pulled the carb 4 times cleaning it and double checking the jet holes each time. I've cleaned the tank, and all the lines, replaced the filter and fuel pump.,
worst case scenario.....you have a leaky diaphragm on the slide.
that usually means it starts and idles ok, but won't pull a load when warmed up since the slide won't lift reliably as the throttle is opened. When I put it back together it will run great for a while. Even hot. Then its like I ran out of gas and wont start for a few seconds. Then run for a minute and shut off again.

If you can haul it and get tired of working on it, let me know....
I'd be glad to take a look at it with you. It's welcome in my almost finished "hut". The family and I are going to the beach next Saturday (7/5) and return the following Saturday (7/14).

Big Rucks are rare and I want to help keep them all on the road! :banger:

PM me when you get back.

While in Hickory at the rally, I got called back to work at the school for a couple of weeks, but should be through by the time you're back home.

So I lost my job at WPCC where I was teaching construction. Had the summer off looking for work. I pulled out the ruck and started taking her apart. Replaced the gas tank, gas pump, fuel float, all lines, added a huge filter, air filter, spark plug, and she LIVES!!! Its ALIVE! .

Thanks to all that gave me advice and offered to assist. BRed sorry I never go back in touch. Been one of those years. If you still would like for me to come look at your house let me know.
