So what's the penalty for being found guilty of following too closely? Monetary fine? Screw that cop and that douchebag guy too. They'll get what's coming to them. Hopefully that guy gets in a wreck with a fuel tanker and ends up under it, tasting his own blood before he dies.

Preach it! People think that bikes have no rights on the roads.

Following too close = $150 fine. Douchebag has a lawyer who sent me a letter 2 months ago claiming damage to car and physical injury. :ucrazy: I didn't bother responding. The judge saying she was not finding me guilty of hitting him might squelch that.

No cast. Splint for 4 weeks, thats off now. Still can't use hand but it will recover in time. Met was barely damaged. Scratched rear fender and RH bar mirror glass cracked.

Employer was amazing. Paid me every pay day for 2 months I was out. Just moved to Mooresville, NC and started at Simpson (new owner of HANS) on Monday. So far, so good. :banger:

I'm just curious, did you have any gloves on? Do you think any of your injuries coulda been prevented with a little bit of gear? Sometimes a lot of us forget that we are on a moving bike... and a lot of damage can be prevented with some simple gear. Anyway, I got a decent priced jacket from www.motorcyclehouse.com if you want to check them out.

Sorry to hear about the fine.. talk about insult to injury by the judge.

Do whatever the docs tell you while healing. I've got a nasty collar bone break that didn't heal right. I was supposed to go to a specialist but didn't have the money and no insurance. Hindsight is 20/20, do what they tell you.

Glad you're mostly ok. Could have been worse. Keep your spirits up!

Sucks that you're hurt, I sympathize. Seriously though, yeah yeah cops are dicks but if you were paying attention or "not following too closely" you wouldn't of hit him, simple as that. Stock brakes kind of suck on these scooters and I'm not here busting your balls but its a policemans job to site the wrongdoer especially if you hit the guy as you're liable.

Just out of curiosity, do you choose you're avatars based on that experience?i can't remember if you had the same one prior to the accident.

Glad to hear you're back out riding!

Copy, from the guy saying there was a mark on his ride I thought there was contact. I do get a little offended with people cop bashing. My best friend is a providence cop and dude puts his life on the line daily. Sure, there are some jerkoff cops but I tend to think if you need them they are there for you. No more no less
