Two weeks ago I bought my zuma 125 and was driving home from the yamaha dealer when a wasp flew into my helmet. I was in town, so my visor was up. Instinctively, both hands went directly to my helmet as I screamed "FUUUUUCK" at the top of my lungs.... In front of the local church holding a free Thursday dinner for 200+ people. God hates me

Yeah, I've caught a couple of stings actually.

The first time I got stung I was on my way to work. A bee must have bounced off my helmet or something. He landed on the collar of my motorcycle jacket and stung the leather. I didn't even know it happened. The whole rest of my commute, I kept hearing the random weird buzzing by my head. I thought I was losing my hearing or there was an electrical short on my ride. It wasn't until I finally got to work when a co-worker was like, "Dude...you have a bee on your jacket."

The second time I got stung, I was on my way to work (again). The bee flew straight into my neck. I felt the pop hit my Adam's apple. I thought it was a pebble or something because it hurt like hell. I reached up and rubbed it to see if my neck was bleeding and ended up pulling the bee out leaving the stinger behind. Unfortunately I was still a while from my job. I punched it to my office, left my bike in front of the entrance, and "beelined" for the bathroom to get the stinger out. By the time I got there, my neck was swollen as fuck. So I was fatnecked the whole rest of the day.

For the guys with allergies, definitely, absolutely carry your epi-pen with you when riding. This shit happens way more often than you think. Especially if you have a bright colorful ride which naturally attracts bees. Like, I've been stung twice, but I've had bees bounce off my helmet countless times.

Edit

Just remembered...one time I was at the stop light and a whole fuckin' swarm of bees came out of nowhere and trapped me. I just froze and they circled around my bike for about 15 seconds looking for something to eat. After figuring out it wasn't a flower, they left. I looked over and the people in the car next me were cracking up. Assholes.

YIiilkkEs Thats crazy davepetty. It is really q srious issue if you allergic especially. I felt ratherdumb or imbarassed when i first posted on this topic bur it rwally is a issue. Weird . its the little things we take for granted that ccan be the most dangerous. Never become complcent.

I had just gotten off work. A hornet hit on the ear and got stuck between my helmet strap. Fucker stung me twice! All I could do was yell at the top my lungs "FUCK YOU BEE" And hold on tight to my bars...

Here's the aftermath...... looking like the Elephant Man

I was on my old Triumph TT 600 and it was a hot summer day. I had my jacket unzipped half way an a bee stung me in the chest. That fucking hurt. I was only going about 40, but it still hurt like hell. I hopped off the bike ASAP, and the damn thing fell out the bottom of my jacket.

years ago when i was in high school i used just a motocross helmet, well naturally in high school I'm checking out all the babes and looking to see if there checking me out on my ride  , so my mouth is wide open and sure enough a wasp flies in my helmet and into my mouth and stings me, the swelling went back into my throat and i was rushed to the hospital and put on some meds, haha good story for the kids

Last summer I was on my Shadow, doing about 65 on the highway, and felt something hit my forehead in the gap between my helmet and goggles. It didn't really hurt much, I just thought it was a little piece of grit or something and forgot about it. It took about a minute to realize the pain was steadily getting worse. I thought WTF and pulled over the first chance I got. Apparently the bee and I were travelling the same direction and it hit ass-first. Little fucker was still stuck to my forehead, hanging from the stinger. Made me glad I'm not allergic, but it hurt like hell for about half an hour.

if you think insects are a pest while riding your scooter......

on a Sunday mountain bike trip, I got stuck in a puddle in the middle of a forest.
from all sides I got attacked by hornets.
30+ stings in arms and legs.

I think I broke the land speed record to get out of there.

the next day I called in sick at work: fever, itching, pain in my joints, stiff all over, one inch markings all over arms and legs.

guess I got stung one time to many......

lol, worst thing that happened to me on my scooter was a big fly hitting me In the eye..... am I a lucky man?

I would recomend going to a dr to get checked. I have heard of multiple stories like this where an incident like this caused the person to be alergic. It would suck to be alergic and not know it or not be prepared for even a single sting again.
