O'ahu, Hawaii

I bought mine new...didn't need anything to drive it off the lot...even with financing through Honda.

Laws for Ruckus: motorcycle license, registration, safety check, insurance.

Good idea: Helmet and other safety gear.

Helmet is only required if you're "Under 21" and its stamped on your license plate
Needs to be registered and plated
No insurance needed
Regular drivers license required

yup. mr police officer recently reminded him

TX:

Class M license if it does more than 30 (there is a moped registration, but doesn't apply to rucks legally)
Registered/Plated
Liability insurance as a minimum

EDIT: helmet laws
if you're under 21, you're suppose to wear one 24/7.
over 21 and w/ life insurance doesn't have to.

Indiana

DL or Moped License(written test only) required(free)
Plated but no insurance requirement( only $26)
35mph max speed(fast enough for a stock ruckus almost)
49CC limit for MDC B but no HP limit and no requirement for a automatic.

All of this means that this bike is classified as a moped in indiana now:

Image

An Aprilla RS50 mini sport bike
I will be either importing one of these within 2 years or trying to find one.

Now my big question is what happens when I cross state lines to say ohio as I have insurance, license, and plate but havent passed a vision test would that nulify my license? Also same goes for the bike as since that aprilla is legal in indiana but what about ohio or kentucky(6 speed transmission)?

In my opinion indiana seems like a great state for moped riding as we can easily still benefit from being registered as we are no longer second class road users but on the same level as other motorist meaning they no longer have the "you dont belong since you havent paid" argument to use, but it seems most of the state is easily travable on roads with speed limits less than 45MPH.
