How do I spot a dangerous driver? I narrow it down to one simple clue.... if they are IN a car... I consider them dangerous

damn cell phone drivers, especially the ones that get their hands involved. waving it around, showing expression.
shows they are to into their conversation that most of the time they wont be paying attention to whats around/behind them. :pissed:

I had a lady run a red on me today . I waited the 2-3 secs it takes to look left -right -left again and noticed to my right periferal vision an object moving a little too fast , so I hit the brakes and stopped just over the crosswalk this lady in a car stopped totally into the intersection . :pissed:
Scan those intersections !

I had a lady pull into a parking spot and just before I went to pass behind her, she put it into reverse to starighten out. She backed out so far that she would have hit anything behind her. She didn't even look back before backing up!

Watch the front wheels of vehicles looking to merge, not the faces of drivers in what could be misinterpreted as recognition that you're on the road and closing in on them.

Like a boxer watching the other guy's shoulders instead of his face to read a coming punch, if you see the front wheel move you've got an unpredictable driver on your hands, slow down, and give yourself room (and check your side lane and behind you traffic to plan for a lane adjustment or hitting the brakes).

On a quiet street watch those cars pulling over to park going the opposite way , they may be just pulling over to pull a U-turn in front of you and not see you as they are scanning backwards to do their maneuver .

I start work at 5am and use my ruck to commute. The other day I watched a car run a stale red, which had been red for 5-10 seconds before it got to the intersection... I had a feeling it was not going to stop when I saw it half a block away... trust your instincts, and always be wary of your surroundings while riding.

If you ride or drive by this principal alone, you should seldom have a problem.

I am invisible.

I ride my bikes that way.
I drive my car that way.
I walk through the mall that way.

will it work forever ?

I dunno, but it has worked so far (22 years)

A Wolo Bad Boy horn does a lot to wake them
up. Nothing worse than an SUV driven by a Blonde
or Wanna Be Blonde chick texting on cell phones.
I miss my Harley for the capability to hit the Kill
Switch and flip it right back on causing backfire. A
1380 c.c. engine sounds like a .357 when it's along
side you and backfires only once. Great expressions
on faces and had a group of wanna be gangstas hit the
pavement on a bridge. They were intimidating a couple
walking by them. Saw what they were up to and figured
it was time for sound FX.

Be wary of BIG WHITE VANS!

I've almost been ran over twice now this month by being too close behind those big white vans (even one with windows). They go in reverse without even bothering to look and see what's behind them. I had to yell loud and slam on the horn, just coming inches from being flattened.

So its probably common sense, and I have definitely learned my lesson, but don't get too close behind those things, and if you are be sure to sit where they can see you in their rear view mirrors. And don't approach them for candy either!

God, yes... that's a DANGEROUS fucking combination. All these young-ass girls who love text messaging. They have almost no driving experience and they're driving vehicles that are way too large because their sugar daddy didn't want to see his baby get hurt when the dumb bitch crashes. :pissed:

They were talking about teens texting on NPR yesterday afternoon... some dumb girl said she ran a red light and got t-boned while texting, but she couldn't stop... she got in a SECOND collision as she rammed a semi trailer from behind while texting. Knowing that these stupid cunts are out there kind of makes me want to stop riding two wheels. :|

I just learned the hard way with this one simple rule...

Regardless of how fast your scooter goes, it's just another annoying obstacle to a car. LOOK TWICE, never second guess and believe that all drivers around you don't care about your safety.
