I am 5'9 as well I find if I scoot down the front of the seat(2009 Tmax) I can flat foot it.

Yeah, but that can be dangerous with a passenger......it's why I like my Morph, it has a very low seat height...I just may have to do a 400 swap on it....

I was just checking their site out last night:
http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/models/tmax

I really like the looks.
The T Max and the Big Ruckus were the only scoots I ever bought brand new.
Loved everything about it but the seating position killed me after an hour or so.
I should have done some seat mods to try and change up my ass to handle bar ratio.
But it was by far the smoothest, fastest, best handling ride I've ever had.

Is that the regular model or the Black Max Edition?

Good question.
I got the pics from a different site than Yamaha, but I see the Gold bits aren't on the model on the US site...
The overall bike color looks the same: Sonic Gray

I like that color and the fact that they got rid of the grey trim plate...I hated how that looked.....the plastics all match now...

Why own a scooter that's as practical as a sport bike? Really............ I have a V-Strom 650 Adventure that I bought new for $8100, almost $3,000 less than this "scooter?". I get 63mpg average, it has factory side cases and a rear rack, it has a laminar lip on one shield and 2 shields standard, it goes faster & quicker, it has alloys, radials, anti-locks, FI, water cooled, weighs the same, clock, air temp, water temp, 2 trip meters w/mpg calculated, fuel meter, instant change from miles to kilometers US gallon to imperial and Celsius to Fahrenheit, digital gear indicator, analog tach, digital speedo, 5.2 gallon fuel tank, 6 speed w/overdrive plus a huge aftermarket. I'm not bashing the T-Max but it is way more money for what you get and very impractical. The ONLY reason to own one is as a play machine. I love scooters and their practicality of twist N go, storage and fuel mileage. The T-Max only has one saving grace, no shifting. Even if it cost the same as most mid sized scooters it falls way short in any area or mode you care to operate it. Just my $.02....Mike

You hit the nail on the head as to why the Tmax (and most "maxi scoots") didn't sell well in the US.

Only when the Tmax's had huge discounts did I even consider one. Bought a 2009 in 2011
