Post subject: Anyone regret trading their Ruckus for a Zuma 125?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 18, 2015 4:04 pm
I have done some variator tuning and lowered the seat, pretty basic stuff, I have gotten to where I can get 45 or so on a flat, but damn it takes a long time to get there. I know there are some things that can be done but results are expensive and time-consuming and I am really thinking about selling the Ruckus to buy a Zuma 125. My biggest beef is feeling like I hold up traffic. I just want to go 50 easily instead of taking 1 minute to get to 45. Anyone ever make the switch and regret it?

I would love to pick up a Zuma , so yea best case start loading up on different scoots/peds in your stable... they all shine differently.

Yeah that would be optimal! :) Easier to get buy in from my wife if I sold the Ruck but I have some funds I can dip into...

How is the Zuma off road / dirt roads compared to the Ruck?

I sold my Ruckus after buying a Zuma 125. The Zuma is by far the more competent bike. Although the Ruckus aesthetically is more fun, the Zuma 125 beats the Ruckus in every other category by a lot. I big bored my Zuma 125 for $200, it added 50% more horse and really woke up the low end.

I drive a minimum of 50 miles a day and I live where you can ride 365 if that matters.

You can ride 365 in Green Bay Wisconsin? Balls of steel right there! :banger:

I never did really like the looks of the zuma, but yeah, they're better stronger and faster, just like Steve Austin!

How does the handling compare? I'm 6" 1' and my lowered seat and center of gravity is nice on the Ruck, but man I'm tired of getting tailgated on backroads.

how many times have ya heard someone say, damn that Zuma was awful, not for me. I have a small stable and that's my go to. as for holding up others- worry about yourself. if you're doing the right thing-fuck 'em. tonight I was able to do it all. hit the highway for several miles (not to smart if you're stock), grocery store (gallon of milk and bag of pretzels), topped her off $3.26, 1.181gallons (roughly 100 miles between fill-ups). the ruck if fun, but that's about it, unless ya drop some serious $$$. as for handlin', I prefer the ruck 'cause of lower center of gravity, mike155 has brought up relocating the tank on the Z, but.... off-roading is all up to how much riding experience ya got. when ya get a chance go and ride a Z. it's not the answer, but the Z is closer to a complete package. most importantly, what's the scoots job in your life

Look in the "used local ads"... you might find one for under $1500.... plus you can't go wrong with Fuel Injected!

The job is to ride around town where speed limits are mostly 35 and under or occasionally 40 part of the time, in which the Ruckus is fine. The main thing I like to do is kind of ride out into the country on some back roads and take it off the beaten path etc. there are some roads that are 45 and people want to do 50 on them of course and it's pretty tough to maintain 45 with hills. The Zuma would fit my needs better, just need to pull the trigger eventually.

Well, think on this....the Zuma is a one piece frame......the Ruck has two pieces....id trust the Zuma more for off-roading......(as a side note, I still wanna GET a ruck tho)
