Leg shield might look sweet in gunmetal grey. Just an idea.

I bet he could plasti dip that color, its available
rene has cans he is trying to sell so you can get it right away if needed
but im not sure if regular spray paint will stick to that plastic much

Ive painted bike plastics before only to have it flake off, and it was that spray paint made for plastics too

i use to get all my automotive paint from the place down the street from my house. SEMS makes some pretty good rattle can stuff, and excellent fabric paint too. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the harness. I may try to run it through the frame. I think it looks good with the leg shield. I think the wife will agree once the whole thing is murdered out!

Damn weather has been so hot. Even thoe it's been registering as 74F on the news cast, the humidity kills me.

leg shield can hide alot of stuff

but if you wire tuck it or just loom it nicely then you can go both ways at any time

I've always loved these things with the leg shields. With something this simple, especially if you are prepping it yourself, I would definitely recommend having it pained by a body shop, or spraying it with single-stage yourself if you have access to an air-compressor. Rattle-can don't even come close to the durability/flexibility of their chemically hardening counterpart. Option 1 - Put in all the elbow grease prepping the plastic and drop $15 on primer and paint to watch it scratch up after a couple weeks or Option 2 - put in the same work and pay $75 to have a shop paint it and have it last 5 years. Plus, the finish on a decent single stage paint job blows a rattle can job out of the water. Just my 2 cents and I've rattle canned countless things including a guitar that got 8-9 coats of paint and 30 coats of clear over the course of 2 weeks and sanded in between every 3-4 coats to achieve the smoothest finish possible. It took almost a year for the paint to "fully harden" and its still fairly soft 8 years later.

If you are looking for durability, they also sell spray on bed liner paint and as well as roll on. I've never used either, but the roll on stuff is supposed to be almost as strong as a professionally applied liner and the spray on stuff is supposedly much stronger than rattle can paint but not as strong as the roll on stuff (from what I've read on forums).

Also, the thing looks so good so far, I think it would really take away from your attention to detail if you were to paint the leg shield black. I've seen a coupled murdered out online and they lack the 'pizzazz' that an off color leg shield has. Again, just my opinion. I'll look for those pics.

Just came across this... maybe not your style, but a shiny silver legs shield with tan seat and grips would be slick.

Flat dark grey leg shield with gloss black racing stripes down one side could be sweet as well. Sorry I've posted so much, just excited about the possibilities.

something along these lines
