Just picked this one up
Other then just the surface rust from living outside and the chopped and broken front fender its all there and working.

Never had a semi auto so im still trying to adjust it. When I got it the little adjusting nut on the side was all the way tight. So it really jumped hard into gear. I think im at 2 turns loose and now its a little smoother to get into gear. I know if its too far out it seems to slip more when accelerating hard.

Also it seems like idle plays a role in how hard it shifts into first from neutral. Also having problems running the bowl dry going up hills but it also may be the rust getting into the lines. So I will remove and clean out the tank.

With the crazy front suspension setup the front lifts when coming to a hard stop. Totally the opposite of any bike ive ever been on.

Sometimes takes forever to kickstart. Even though it has e start it doesnt work. The button was missing but I put a new one in. I hear the solenoid barely click but no starter. I even took a battery charger right to the starter and it wont spin but buzzes. So im not sure if the starter is dead. When kick starting and if the engine catches then dies I can hear the starter catch for a second. So that means it does spin. But must not work with power? Its also 6v so who knows. I did put a brand new battery but made no difference but turn signals work a little better.

Im not going to do anything to the bike, but new front fender, tires, new headlight as the original already burnt out. Also get new bulbs in the speedo.
Heated up the footpegs and straightened one side that was bent. Also the steering was off center but was able to force it back straight. Adjusted all the turn signals all were bent a little. Probably later get the centerstand for it too.

The 70cc seems fine, basically a little faster then a stock ruckus up hills, about the same top speed. But I think faster acceleration. Probably use it to do shopping mount the basket on the front when I do that. Then take it off as it looks gay.

It looks clean far away but up close shows its age. Just something to add to the collection.

yeah the few items I got from dratv ended up being over $160
but $45 was shipping I guess from adding the fender. Hopefully its a close enough color too
and if I choose usps it would of been $95 shipping :pissed:

Well decided to pull the tank, even though looking in with a light didnt see any particles when I cleaned it there was a ton of rust that fell out

So im hoping that will fix my running out of gas going up hills, now that I have a stronger flow of fuel. Also saw the main fuel line was pinched. I have just been using reserve

Also decided to check the valves since sometimes it could take 50 kicks to get it started. Now it could of been from the lack of fuel flow too but its easy enough to check.
The intake was not to spec, exhaust was.
So far now it starts on 1 kick, which is great.
Then I saw I guess an idle air or fuel screw on the carb. It was set at 1-1/2 turns out but I found at maybe 1-3/4 to 2 turns its idling way better. I know how to set for idle air screw types so thats how I set this.
If its a fuel screw who knows but the idle is even better now. I can have it idle lower which also keeps the tranny shifting into 1st like you cant even feel it.

When before it would lurch forward and you had to hold the brake. Now it wont roll at all with no brake.

So I may of had all those small issues making the problems I had yesterday.
But I will just need to hit some hills to be sure. If it doesnt stall then all is good.
That should be all im doing to the bike but for the few parts I ordered. I also may check all my bulbs to see if they are 6 volt. My tail light is not and im wondering if the signals arent also. That may be the reason they flash so slow if they had been replaced with 12 v too much load on the flasher.

You have to have no life, free time and no life in order to be able to tinker around with these bikes.

Auto stores hardly carry anything these days. Try Stockers- even tho its a total rip.

Got the new starter relay
running into issues

First when I got the bike I got a new battery because the e start did not work
Then new battery all I heard was a slight click in the realy. And I could tap the realy to make the e start work
So I got a new relay

Same problem. I have to tap it to start. But if my charger is connected making the battery read over 7v it will start all day.

If I ride the bike for 15 min my battery reads over 6.7v or slightly more cant remember
I can get 2 e starts in a row but after that I have to tap it. The battery would read around 6.5v

I keep that battery on a battery tender all day since I got it, I would assume its fully charged. Since its 6v im not exactly sure what its supposed to read at full charge.

But im just not sure if the new relay is really not a 6v model because there really is no load on a little solenoid to click. So I cant figure out why its not working. Why I need such high voltage to get it to work.
Is this how these bikes were brand new. Maybe a couple starts then you are stuck kicking it?

I thought I had it figured out when I changed out my tail light bulb. It was a 12v and was dim. The 6v is really bright now so I had thought the 12v was putting more load on the battery trying to e start. But it was because my charger was connected at that time.

Once I got a taste of e start I want it all the time!!!!
