Use a green scratch pad and a mixture of water and Ajax to buff it make sure (keep it wet and buff it all. Then wash off with a non-greasy cleaner like windex. That's what I do to Harley's before airbrushing graphics it will make paint stick pretty well.

make sure to use painters tape to mask the vin so you wont go over it:)

I agree for normal paint jobs, but this stuff sticks regardless. I recommend simply washing the bike and spraying it so you can go back to shiny new if you do decide to peel it off.

As for masking the vin, dually noted. I masked the vin and THEN painted over it. :P This way #1 there's no chance of damage and #2 if someone like a cop must see it I can score the area around the vin and simply peel off that section of plasti dip. Until then I like the uniform look of the whole underbody painted black.

Now I'm not against your opinions, just stating how I decided to do mine. :banger: Thanks for the input guys.

Very cool and I actually like it, but your resale value has just shit the bed. Unless when you peel it the paint is somehow clean and not shitty/sticky.

Buggy Depot will sue you if you don't like their products/service which are made by 10 year old asian boys in sweatshops.

I got a can of black and did my front frame last night....gawd this shit is easy to work with!
I also sprayed over my VIN, but then took a lil exacto knife and trimmed it out and the plastidip just peels right off...shit looks all fact-ry like. Makes the floorboard look real nice next to it!

Even though I taped it off and masked it, overspray was hardly an issue...what little I had rubbed off or was easily taken off by a claybar.

:wc_flag: Far from shit the bed, actually completely opposite. I've been using plasti dip to protect my vehicles for a couple years now, the stuffs like vinyl wrap in a can... but better because it doesnt leave any residue AT ALL. so you spray it on, play in the dirt, then peel it off and your paint is untouched :) watch some vids of this stuff, absolute gold IMO.

I can vouch for the awesomeness of the product. I've done 2 sets of rims, ruckus rear frame, and ruckus rims. Went from red frame to matte black, and just bought a matte black battery box. Looks awesome. Ended up buying copper metalizer plasti dip for my rims. Looks awesome.

Image The before shot to prove it was indeed red.

Image Paint booth for plasti dip. Used my buddy's plasti dip specific compressor and spray gun. Awesome system, you buy gallons of the paint, and spray it like any other system. He used it on his FJ Cruiser, turned out awesome, still looks great after almost 2 years on it.

Image Finished copper rims. Ignore the over spray on the tire itself. It literally just peels off from the rubber and self cuts itself along the edge of the rim, leaving a perfect finish.

Image How the rear frame looks matte, with the copper rims (note the clean edge on the front rim)
