I bought an LED kit with two three bulb strips in red and a small rocker switch from Auto Zone. I stuck the strips on my seat frame facing down, then split out the ground and the lead on each wire, used butt connectors to connect them to some 18 gauge wire, and wired up the switch after installing it in the battery box, put the hot on the red side and the ground on the black side of the battery. It's just enough to light up the engine at night. I leave them on when I'm parked somewhere. It's nice not having to worry about LED's drawing your battery down.

totally agree thats what i thought about doing maybe a couple around the bottom of the frame near the gas tank as well. but im a somewhat of a noob when it comes to electronics and really dont wanna screw up the wiring and blow a second fuse lol. how difficult was it to wire it all up and anyway you could upload a diagram or schematic showing how you wired it. pics on how you hooked it up to the battery would be great as well. sorry for all the requests but as mentioned dont wanna screw it up haha

I wired mine right into the battery, so there's no fuse to worry about. LED's don't draw very much so you don't need a fuse on the circuit if that's all you are running on it.

You'll need a switch, some 18 gauge insulated wire, some male and female spade connectors and butt connectors (the red ones work on 18 gauge wire), a stripper/crimper, and electric tape.

The switch will have three male spade connectors. Using female connectors, run wiring from one to the red terminal on the battery (lead), one to the black terminal on the battery (ground), and the third will be power to the lead from the LED set. The switch should at least come with instructions that tell you which spade is which for the lead, ground, and power. I used u connectors to connect the lead and ground to the battery. I'm assuming you know how to strip a wire and crimp a connector to it.

Your LED set will have what looks like one wire running from it, but if you look close it's actually two wires insulated together. You can carefully pull the two sides apart. One side should have a stripe on it, that's your ground. I put a connector on mine and ran a ground wire all the way back to the battery box and spliced it to the ground on the switch. Some people just ground that one to the frame of the bike farther back. The side without a stripe is the lead. You'll connect that to the power lead from the switch. Now you've supplied power to the circuit and you've grounded the circuit. Flip the switch and the lights should work.

I was new to electrical work too when I did it, so I didn't take pictures as I went, sorry. My switch came with wiring instructions, but the LED set did not.

Pro-tip: After you strip a wire for a connection, twist it then fold it back like a hook. Hook all your wires together first, then test. If the lights come on, then go through and install your connectors. If they don't work, recheck your wiring. It sucks installing connectors only to cut them out again. Tuck wires and use your tape as needed to keep things clean.

Take your time when mounting and hide all the bulbs. All you want to see is the light put off. Seeing the bulbs is ghetto lol
