I have my speedometer in my battery box and I love the way it looks. Honda should have put it there to begin with as far as I'm concerned. I don't regret it at all. I have never had a problem with my speedometer cable binding up or snapping either.

I made it easier to remove the battery box by soldering bullet connectors in the wiring that goes to the speedometer close to the speedometer and it makes the speedometer very easy to remove when removing your battery box. All I do is take the rear of the battery box off slightly and unplug the wires from the speedometer using the bullet connectors and then remove the speedometer cable and presto, battery box removed.

Here's the link of how to put it in the B/B.
http://totalruckus.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11634

I have just changed my bars, and had the same thought about putting it in the box.
Decided against it and went for this instead:

Not sure how it would work with Low bars.
But I just copied the original mount and made a new one out of 1.5mm alloy,
then bolted it to the Bar clamp

I have a battery box (the back) that is already cut if you are interested in purchasing. PM me

I went digital so I had no need for the speedo anymore.

my speedo is still in my battery box. pretty sure on my next build im just gonna use a cell phone with gps app and a slickgrip mount. i feel like the speedo in the battery box makes it a pain in the as to take off and put back on the batery box. love the way it looks though, just might go a different route next time

Actually it is. Great looking mod IMO, pain in the ass to deal with battery box afterwa4ds, but doesn't affect performance at all. I'm going to move this now.

I considered putting mine in the batt box several times.

Still haven't done it.

The batt box seems a little crowded already.

Does L@@K pretty great though.
