Nice!!

Good pictures and a good write-up......that looks like a nice upgrade for the BR.

I can't wait to hear how it fits. :banger:

What Ed said! I'm stoked there may finally be a slightly more economical option than the Ohlins. :banger:

That Bitubo shock is awesome hal9000! Good plan on the lower mounting bolt, are there any grade stripes on the bolt head? The Bitubo looks a lot more beefy and the spring sits nice and square along the plane of the shock, plus the adjustable compression and rebound is a nice feature. Think I am going to install "your" Ohlins HO839 on my BR tomorrow, then the Kijima basket rack. I'll take some photos during the install, hard to improve on your excellent photo essay!

Old BMW MC trick...go to the next heavier weight of fork oil to stiffen the front fork response. Problem is, I don't think Honda put in a drain on the lower legs of the fork. Hal, you are welcome to be the lead man on the front forks.

In the midst of installing my Ohlins, slight interference problem with the brake line. The spring is touching the outer protective grommet that slips over the brake line where it is clamped in the bracket. Persuading that to cooperate after a cup of coffee.

Yeah, you have to use a press to get the forks apart to replace the oil. JimT gave us all the run down a couple of years ago when prepping his BR for the Cannonball. He too went to stiffer fork oil. And I'm hoping to get mine changed out in a couple of weeks...just gotta find someone close with a press.

Sorry about that...Ed and the rest of the moderators are gradually moving things. I only moved a few
that I caught just for testing the new forum. :D

But Hal, you and Warney have done a GREAT job in your research and testing!! Well done! :banger:
