How much should I shave my 10x8 ITP wheel lip for a 140/90?

Hey guys, before I mount my Kenda 140/90-10 to my ITP 10x8 steel wheel I was just wondering how much of the lip I should shave off so it is more flush with the tire, here is what I was planning on doing VVV. Thanks

get a tire wider thar a 140.... like a 225 then it'll be flush

I will in the future, but alot of guys run this tire as it's the widest avalible in the US, from what I read.

i'd just hate to see you pop a bead mid corner.... there is a reason for those...

my guess is that yo are opposed to running a square automotive tire, and want to keep the handleing aspects of a MC tire?

Thats exactley it, also it was another $100 for the square tire. I have seen this tres used many times, I am just not a fan of the 1/2" of lip sticking out when its mounted.

i can get the innova racer tire but it's not cheap . but should only be about 70 or so more than a 140/90

don;t worry about the tires popping the bead if you cut the wheel lip BUT tires will be a bitch to mount . that's really the only downfall

I mounted a pirelli sl26 130/90/10 on a ITP 10x8 wheel. I first mounted the tire then I put it on the lathe to turn the lip down flush with the rest of the rim. Looks alot better imo!

I ended up finding a 18x10.00-10 for about $75 shipped, so I went with that, I know the handeling will suck, but it looks so damn good haha.

I had to use a rachet strap and the bead-seal tank to seat my 140 tire on an itp 10x8. I personally like the look of the big lip. To each their own
