For those who are running a fatty tire, short axle, single shock, and no trans cover...or any combo thereof, be sure to keep and eye on your casing right in front of your gearbox. the factory 90degree casting is a flawed design and prone to crack when under excessive stress caused by us modifying.

i suspect this is a known problem in Asia as my replacement taiwan case has a relief cut out in this area from the factory to get rid of the sharp angle. id recommend doing this yourself with a 3/16" drill bit

i broke alot of dio engines on my drag bikes. mostly from torque, on gy6 engines thats why i always tell everyone to use the right side brace. it does look alot better without it but its alot stonger with it.

hi grade mentioned it above. Either keep your cvt case on or do the relief cut like his currently.

WOW!

anyone know if the GET motor has had any troubles like this? or the Zuma motors (zumakus)??

Gy6 so popular maybe we should do a warning on the gy6 swaps.

i have warned about this. use cvt cover at minimum, use the left side brace or risk it. up to you. for me I have children and a wife, i gotta think of them first.

I built 124cc dio af18 and af16 engines that broke in half while drag racing back in 1995. and broke other engines in half because we used to run half cvt covers to help cooling. but now i run the whole cover and if not i run a right side brace. just think of the torque and dierection and deflection. alot of unnessicary stress. and all scooter engines were not made for this stresses. i run a 232cc gy6 it has alot more stress than a stock 150cc. ever see my bikes without the right side? or cvt? nope.

This is very good info. Now, I'm not running a cvt cover, but do have the "Ankelbitter"cvt plate. It's 1/4 thick aluminum. I don't know if it will help so I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on the swing arm.
