Are there different drum drake sizes on the 150 long case? I have a motor and the 13 inch 3 spoke wheel and the brakes are larger than the drum on the wheel.

so if i buy an 11 pole stator for my gy6 can i run the stock flywheel or do i need to buy a new one ?

Well if you're going from a 6/8 to an 11 you'll need a lot more than just the stator.

Stator
Flywheel
Rectifier
and a harness that's wired to accept an 11 pole stator.

Runt

When I went from an 8 pole to an 11 pole set up I was able to use my stock flywheel... There are some stock flywheels that will not work with and 11 pole stator though.

Here is a list of things I could use some knowledge on. PLEASE HELP!

GY6 exhaust that's kinda quiet and affordable?
Good variator, rollers, and springs?
Any other good modifications to do...

Thanks for all the help, knowledge and ideas.

Post subject: Is this a big bore or no
PostPosted: Thu May 31, 2012 5:47 pm
OK so I picked up a motor but upon looking at the the fins on the head where the sleeve is I noticed something the fins on every standard 150 I could find were straight, perpendicular to the direction of movement of the cylinder and all the big bore stuff were like a wave or some sort of pattern not so much straight can anyone confirm this otherwise I'm going to have to tare it down and use the calipers to find out

time for another newb question.

Say I got a good deal on a shortcase with kickstart(seems harder to find) BUT it's the ATV setup, so it has reverse. Can I just remove the reverse stuff and run it like any other GY6? I don't see any physical differences other than the gearset bolted on the output of the trans.

If the engine has an external reverse box, you can remove it easily and mount your 10" GY6 scoot rim & tire where the reverse box was. Here is an example of an external reverse setup:

However, if it has an internal reverse built into the engine case, it's not a good candidate for a swap. Here's an example:
