How about this: http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/mcy/3959745577.html

Looks like a Tao Tao "CY150-A TaoTao Adult 150cc Gas Moped Scooter – Paladin" Which I found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CY150-A-TaoTao-Adult-150cc-Gas-Moped-Scooter-Paladin-/251313504876?pt=Scooters_Mopeds&hash=item3a8373c26c&vxp=mtr

I really like the wheels on this one, and it appears to be longcase. How does that front disc and wheel setup work with the ruckus forks? Purchase new forks, and caliper?

 Post subject: Ebay GY6 Motors
PostPosted: Mon Oct 27, 2014 7:21 am
I'm looking to get a new 150cc GY6 and I have found the best prices on them on Ebay, Amazon, and T Motorsports. However, I am reading some really great things about these motors and some really horrible things as well. There is one other thread on here about the topic so I wanted to get some more up-to-date opinions from you guys about these GY6's. I can't afford to spend more than these motors are going for ($310) so I need to be pretty sure I will get a good motor. Thanks!

Really, I'm not sure where you get the motor from is going to guarantee that it's a good motor. Theyre all selling chinese engines. The quality control on these gy6s is not The greatest. That's why some people get a good motor, some don't.

What you want to find is a seller/vendor that will stand behind the product that they sell. So if you do get a junk motor, they will replace it.

In my experience they are all the same. If I were you I would buy from T-motorsports. They give you all the extras with the engine and a lot of the ebay ones will not send you the carb, cdi or whatever else.

As far as these being a good engine, theyre not. Don't kid yourself. They are fast but unreliable. As opposed to the GET which is slow and reliable. Pick your poison.

What will determine if the engine is a good motor is you. How will you take care of it? Are you changing the oil every couple of rides. Is it tuned properly? Did you ride it like a raped ape instead of properly breaking it in? These engines will last if you are good to them and understand their limitations. These are not like GET engines where you can forget about all maintenance.
