Post subject: I went from Polini Corsa 70cc Zuma kit to Malossi 70cc kit,
PostPosted: Thu Sep 17, 2009 6:53 pm
I felt some difference.

I didnt change anything but head and piston, same jet setting, carb, gas/oil, everything,

Polini kit had some bogging issue at start, but it will stretch its power bank upto 65mph,

now with Malossi kit, it doesnt bog at all, i only can get upto 62mph, but this kit is alot smoother.

I know I have to break in to get the full power, so we'll see whats up.

Overall, I am very happy with Malossi kit,
HUGE thanks to Tommy @ Scootertronics for the hook up and the install!

-John

when you say "head and piston" do you mean cylinder, piston and head?
or are you using the pollini cylinder still?

sry, its the whole kit with their cylinder.

everything is tossed from polini, the actual cylinder was cracked due to wrong install of the pin.

corsa is steel bores, did you get malossi steel or MHR bore? its all in the port timing on the corsa, it need alittle more rpm to run good, matching the power band of the pipe to the port timing. the molossi bore can run with less rpm in the power and and they both have very diferent ports and squish bands. i dont wanna get into to much detail.
so i'll leave it at that.

got a friend with a malossi mhr single ring race bore on his rexy with a 21oko..Athena race pipe.. 9-1 gearing and hes almost hitting 80mph..and thats with a 10 inch rim.. but considering that the ruckus is a lil heavier it will go a lil slower.. but i think you can push a lil more out of yours.. like achi said porting makes a diff.. you should open her up a lil more
