is it worth it to take off the stock for a Briggs and Stratton muffler

It is a really loud and raw sounding mod, with no added performance. Spend the money on a proper exhaust.

Hell yeah it is worth it! For a 7-10 dollar muffler you can't go wrong. If anything, it gives you the ability to be heard by other cars! Plus it saves you damn near ten pounds!

All the muffler sound you hear is that pipe, im running a stock pipe in the video.

For you guys running these, do you leave or drill the "blocker" in the muffler??

I just picked one up and never knew they had that, I'm PROBABLY going to drill it but thought I'd see if anyone has done it an would care to share their results

I left mine alone! Who knows if you would get more sound or performance from drilling it. My sound changed when I added the longer bigger pipe though.

I just welded one up last night.. I'm VERY impressed by the tone, after running open head for a week the B&S muffler is kind of quiet lol

Performance wise it gave me a buttload of torque and it only seems to be choking the top end a little

Btw!! I'm using a Met header, NOT a ruckus one, the met has a much much larger ID pipe.. It had a better tone open header than a ruck does and I'm sure my B&S muffler sounds different than if it were on a ruck
